Dite's Decadent Delights, Tuesday
The store was much more sparkly today, reflecting Aphrodite's mood after the party last night. Flirting with Mary had been fun, but so had flirting with Max, and Deadpool. Knowing she could get a blush like that made the goddess inside of her all shivery with happiness and love.
Although, that might have been the sugar, as she'd worked her way through the cookies from JGOB. What was left of them were still available for customers and 'Dite herself was munching on a peanut butter cookie while flipping through a fashion magazine.
"Oh, for crying out loud! Those are hip again? Come on, people, that is so 1812." And she'd know. "That's even worse than bell bottoms!" Which was saying something.
The blinds were up, the lights were on, and the two signs on the door said, "OPEN."
And "I've got the job for you!"
Decadent Delights was open.
(OOC: Expecting two, but open to anyone!)

But she hadn't had a chance to come by, and hey, if nothing else, it was her deputy mayoral duty to check in, right? Plus, um, hi, fun store.
So, she kind of leaned into the door as she opened it, taking a superficial look at what greeted her, before saying, "Hi!"

"Hi!" She waved. "Well, don't just stand there, come on in. Nothing in here bites." Then she wrinkled her nose and scrunched her shoulders cutely. "'Cept for me."

"Wait, did you say Deputy Mayor? And is this about that Wilhelmina? Because she had it comin'!" And I didn't even zap her(yet)!

'Dite, on the other hand was smiling. "A tour it is. Shall we start up front and work our way . . . towards the back?"
(OOC: Oh, fine, make me draw a layout of the store! . . . not that I haven't been thinking about that anyway)

Besides, someone named Valentine working at a sex shop. These things practically wrote themselves.
So that was why, sometime before class, she was walking into Dite's Decadent Delights and saying, "So, I understand that you have got the job for me."
no subject
"Huh?" Then it hit her. "OH! The sign! The job! Riiiight." She nodded, then reached for a pad of paper.
"So, you'd like to apply for the job. Yes." Professional, 'Dite. I can do professional. She stretched out her hand. "I'm Jackie Blue, owner of 'Dite's Decadent Delights. And you are?"
This was all so exciting!

"Valentine? Valentine!" She grinned. "That's perfect! You're named after the one holiday that celebrates the goddess of love. How wonderful!"
Focus, 'Jackie'. She coughed. "Ahem. Excuse me. So, you worked with Dr. Brennan?" She had no clue what a TA was. "Was he satisfied with your work? Did you enjoy it?"
no subject
Instead, she just smiled. "She, actually," Valentine said. "And I think she was. It was a very satisfying and enlightening experience."
no subject
"I can totally understand that," she said with a nod. "So why do you wanna work here, now?"
Valentine was hired, but 'Dite felt she should still ask the questions.

. . . not like that, geez.
But ever since her conversation (http://thismaskiwear.livejournal.com/9331.html?thread=92275#t92275) with Rachel
the pervy door fancieroutside her cabin on Sunday she'd been more than a little preoccupied with the idea (http://thismaskiwear.livejournal.com/9331.html?thread=114035#t114035) that the poor sheltered kid really, really wanted to know more about sex.Which was why she strolled casually into the new store in town in the afternoon, hands in her pockets where a piece of paper with Rachel's name and phone number was stowed, thank you school directory, expression completely nonchalant -- nothing in here was going to shock her, after all.
"You're hiring, right?"
[OOC: That Katchoo came to the store is fine for broadcast, but the reason why NFB, please. :)]

'Dite sat up and smiled. "I certainly am. Are you looking for a job?" She was ready to switch into professional mode at any moment.
no subject
"It's not for me, it's for a friend," Katchoo said, lying through her teeth easily, and even managing to squelch the laugh at the thought of calling anyone she knew as little as she did Rachel a friend. Or . . . calling most people a friend, if you wanted to be comprehensive about it. "She couldn't make it in today so I wanted to pick up an application for her."

She smirked. "Yeah, one way or another it's kinda appropriate for this place, innit?"
And no, she didn't give her name. She knew that.

As the lyrics continued, she raised her head and eyed the evil person singing to her. When she asked the question, 'Dite tilted her head. "For the store, or Fandom? Cause I doubt I'm the only one who's ever used an alias." It was taking a chance, she knew that, but something said this kid wasn't saying anything.
Not that she really thought this was a kid. She'd seen people who'd grown up too fast, and this was one of them.
