Dite's Decadent Delights, Tuesday

The store was much more sparkly today, reflecting Aphrodite's mood after the party last night. Flirting with Mary had been fun, but so had flirting with Max, and Deadpool. Knowing she could get a blush like that made the goddess inside of her all shivery with happiness and love.

Although, that might have been the sugar, as she'd worked her way through the cookies from JGOB. What was left of them were still available for customers and 'Dite herself was munching on a peanut butter cookie while flipping through a fashion magazine.

"Oh, for crying out loud! Those are hip again? Come on, people, that is so 1812." And she'd know. "That's even worse than bell bottoms!" Which was saying something.

The blinds were up, the lights were on, and the two signs on the door said, "OPEN."

And "I've got the job for you!"

Decadent Delights was open.

(OOC: Expecting two, but open to anyone!)

Robin had noticed the store, of course, and being deputy mayor, she'd known about it.

But she hadn't had a chance to come by, and hey, if nothing else, it was her deputy mayoral duty to check in, right? Plus, um, hi, fun store.

So, she kind of leaned into the door as she opened it, taking a superficial look at what greeted her, before saying, "Hi!"

"But only on request?" Robin guessed, grinning as she stepped in. "Woman after my own heart, then."

Robin arched a brow at said lollipops, but took a cookie. "Robin Scherbatsky. And thanks. Are things going okay for you so far? I'm the deputy mayor -- so, really, I should've been by sooner, but I'm here to help if you like, need help finding anything."

"What'd you do to Wilhelmina?" Robin asked curiously. "I hadn't heard anything, but she's cool. She comes into the bar when I'm working sometimes. Kinda old-fashioned, but nice lady."

Max had been meaning to come by for a while now. Apparently now was the time to do that. He didn't actually have any idea what sort of store he was walking into, he was just showing up for the proprietress.

"Hello?"

[identity profile] furious-maximus.livejournal.com 2009-07-07 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"I did," Max grinned as he took a look around the store. At which point he got slightly distracted because, well, hello!

"Nice place you've got here," he managed.

"Why don't you give me a tour?" Max suggested. Because that way he could satisfy his curiosity without having to give up her company.

This was probably either the best idea that Valentine had ever had or just an example of how, really, Valentine shouldn't be allowed to have her own ideas without one of her brothers around to nudge her in one way or the other. She was leaning toward the best idea angle, herself, especially since once she thought of it, it stuck.

Besides, someone named Valentine working at a sex shop. These things practically wrote themselves.

So that was why, sometime before class, she was walking into Dite's Decadent Delights and saying, "So, I understand that you have got the job for me."

[identity profile] a-demosthenes.livejournal.com 2009-07-07 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Valentine grinned a little, finding it just a little difficult to keep from being amused, and then deciding that she'd let herself be amused anyway as she reached out to take the proffered hand. "Valentine Wiggin, hopeful employee. I can't claim a lot of experience in this specific trade, but I was Dr. Brennan's TA for sexual anthropology last semester."

Valentine figured that it was probably in her best interest here not to point out that she was actually named for the saint, not the holiday, and that, really, the origin of the holiday was just as likely based around the myth that St. Valentine was martyred for marrying Christians back in the fifth century.

Instead, she just smiled. "She, actually," Valentine said. "And I think she was. It was a very satisfying and enlightening experience."

Katchoo was on a mission.

. . . not like that, geez.

But ever since her conversation (http://thismaskiwear.livejournal.com/9331.html?thread=92275#t92275) with Rachel the pervy door fancier outside her cabin on Sunday she'd been more than a little preoccupied with the idea (http://thismaskiwear.livejournal.com/9331.html?thread=114035#t114035) that the poor sheltered kid really, really wanted to know more about sex.

Which was why she strolled casually into the new store in town in the afternoon, hands in her pockets where a piece of paper with Rachel's name and phone number was stowed, thank you school directory, expression completely nonchalant -- nothing in here was going to shock her, after all.

"You're hiring, right?"

[OOC: That Katchoo came to the store is fine for broadcast, but the reason why NFB, please. :)]

Oh, yeah. There were Polaroids and video footage out there somewhere to prove it. If you wanted to look. You probably didn't.

"It's not for me, it's for a friend," Katchoo said, lying through her teeth easily, and even managing to squelch the laugh at the thought of calling anyone she knew as little as she did Rachel a friend. Or . . . calling most people a friend, if you wanted to be comprehensive about it. "She couldn't make it in today so I wanted to pick up an application for her."

Katchoo's eyebrow arched sardonically. "That your real name, or were you a big fan of the 70's?" Without waiting for a response, she started singing in her raspy voice, "You like your life in a freeform style, you'll take an inch but you'd love a mile; there never seems to be quite enough floating around to fill your lovin' cup . . ."

She smirked. "Yeah, one way or another it's kinda appropriate for this place, innit?"

And no, she didn't give her name. She knew that.
