Cabot and Associates - Tuesday,7/21
The first thing Fiona did as soon as she was in the office was to make a quick phonecall. The second was to set the little thermos of nectar on her desk near the wall where no one else should be able to snatch it. Then she got to her research, her filing, and answering the phone.
And smiling. She couldn't stop looking at the thermos and smiling.

Re: Fiona
So there he was in the law offices. "Hi, Fiona. Got a second?"
Re: Fiona
A glance at the thermos made the smile more genuine and she moved to stand from her desk.
"Certainly. How can I help you?"
Re: Fiona
Re: Fiona
"All right. Do you want a chair as well? We have another one in here."
Re: Fiona
He raised one eyebrow and started with a general question. "So how do you feel about how things went Sunday?"
Re: Fiona
She didn't ask why. The why would no doubt come out sooner or later.
Re: Fiona
Re: Fiona
"If you promise not to freak at me, sure."
He might notice that Fiona wasn't exactly emotional much at all. There were some acted actions, but she didn't seem particularly bothered.
Re: Fiona
"No freaking," he promised. "So -- the way I hear it from other people, is that it's basically a hyperfast learning curve." Yes, he was enough of a geek to say 'hyperfast,' and his tone was curious, not belligerent. "Ino says you steal powers. Do you actually make people you spar against worse?"
Re: Fiona
"No. Not at all. I... don't even recall discussing what I could do with her, really. It's just, um, natural, I guess. Picking that stuff up. My brother does it with instruments; I do it with weapons and fighting."
Re: Fiona
He paced a few steps. "And are you from one of the worlds with Tony Stark?" Which was not a namedropping thing; he'd just learned a lot of the American people with powers were from there, and he liked knowing.

"Discovered anything exceptional in the law today?"
Re: Fiona
"No. I couldn't really think today. Too excited."
For lots of reasons.
Re: Fiona
Re: Fiona
"Definitely for our-- what's that?"
She pointed at his 'missing' hand.
Re: Fiona
Re: Fiona
"Gimme," and she felt terribly immature, but it was fun so she didn't care.

Her chest felt heavy again, and her throat hurt, and she sort of wanted to hit him in the shoulder but mostly she wanted to kiss him and wrap her arms around his shoulders and not let go for a while.
"Griff" and most of that was in the way she said his name. Yes, yes, he'd done well to get her flowers. No one had ever gotten her flowers before.
Re: Fiona
"Alright, Fiona?" Griffin checked, waiting for her to take them.
