Morgan's Hardware - Wednesday, 07/22

Morgan liked to think he was a reasonably intelligent man. He liked to think that he had a reasonable temper, that he was friendly and decent, and that he had a good understanding of how computers worked.

"Mother !@#$ing Vista!"

...Morgan's printer did not agree with him on at least two of these points.

"What do you want? You want me to sing? You can sing, and not save any of my files, but you won't recognize my printer. Great. Just great."

Morgan's Hardware and Repair
Home improvement supplies - Plumbing - Electrical Work
Painting - Custom Carpentry - Installation

Still Hiring! Discounts and Training Available!

The store was open, even if the owner was in the back office, wondering how it would feel to tackle Bill Gates.

Daisy had intended to stop by the hardware store for a while now, but because she particularly needed anything, but simply because she remembered Morgan stopping in at the station a while back and was wondering how he was managing to get along after her initial warnings. RL Things kept getting in her way for that, but she found the time in the space between office hours and station hours to at least swing by and say hi.

She came into the store and got momentarily distracted by ooh shiny electrical wires before calling out with a "Hullo?"

"It's Detective Constable," it came out automatically, with a sigh for the fact that there wasn't a thing she could do to hedge it, and a faint smile, "actually, and, really, just Daisy at the moment; technically off duty until I get into the station. I had a few minutes before I'm expected, though, so I thought I'd pop in and see how you were doing. I knew you hadn't been scared off yet thanks to the radio reports, but I was curious about whether your sanity's still in tact."

"Business isn't exactly my field," admitted Daisy, with a grin, "but there's certainly resources of it enough to figure it's got to be a lucrative enterprise. You're the one with the shop; why don't you look into it?"

"BAU?" asked Daisy, eyebrow lifting. "Really?"

Well, that did provide a certain explanation why he'd thought to go to the station for information when he first got her.

"Well, you certainly would look sharp in one," Daisy had to admit, shaking her head a little in amusement. "I think some people might be onto something saying this place seems to be attracting an awful lot of cops lately. You're still working BAU, though? What'd they send you out here for? I mean, unless that's classified."

She said the last bit with a reverence that if it was indeed classified, then it was the end of that and she'd leave it with respect.

"Awww." That sort of team solidarity was really just the thing to go straight to the bottom of Daisy's righteous heart, and she smiled. "I'll have to try to say hullo, then. I teach a course during the summer myself; just coming back from my office hours, actually."

And that she said with the sort of amused shock that she was suddenly someone who actually had office hours. Her parents were truly proud; they wanted her to be a lecturer like them, and not a cop.

Daisy nodded, noting the description carefully with a grin. "Should be easy enough. If anything, it's a small island. Can't stay hidden for too long."

"That certain would explain why he's teaching strategy then, wouldn't it?" offered Daisy, grinning, but then she shook her head. "And, ta, no, but I appreciate the offer. I really shouldn't stay long," she stole a quick glance at her watch, "just dropped in while I actually did have some time between spots, and, besides, pop. All those empty calories, sugars, diuretic." She shook her head. "Don't drink much of it."

Daisy had attempted to affix a little look on Morgan for a comment like that, but, for the life of her, she couldn't put any real sternness behind it and could only chuckle in appreciation. This place was taking all the sternness out of her for some things and she was still off duty, it was perfectly fine.

"Ta, I'm pretty fond of it myself," she said, and she nodded. "Daisy. At the moment. Hopefully more Daisy than Detective Constable. I'll let you get back to your work, but I might have to start up a project so I've got a reason to come back and check out," him, but she pointed toward some wiring, "what you've got in electrical here a little closer."

"You, too, Morgan," said Daisy, with another check of her watch and a little wave before heading back on her way to make it to the station on time.
