Morgan's Hardware - Wednesday, 07/22
Morgan liked to think he was a reasonably intelligent man. He liked to think that he had a reasonable temper, that he was friendly and decent, and that he had a good understanding of how computers worked.
"Mother !@#$ing Vista!"
...Morgan's printer did not agree with him on at least two of these points.
"What do you want? You want me to sing? You can sing, and not save any of my files, but you won't recognize my printer. Great. Just great."
Morgan's Hardware and Repair
Home improvement supplies - Plumbing - Electrical Work
Painting - Custom Carpentry - Installation
Still Hiring! Discounts and Training Available!
The store was open, even if the owner was in the back office, wondering how it would feel to tackle Bill Gates.

RLThings kept getting in her way for that, but she found the time in the space between office hours and station hours to at least swing by and say hi.She came into the store and got momentarily distracted by ooh shiny electrical wires before calling out with a "Hullo?"
no subject
"I'm-- hey," and the smile was less frantic and more interested, "Constable Day. What brings you by?"

"I've got enough on my plate. Unlike some people, I'm not actually on annual leave. Between this place, the house I'm working on here, and BAU paperwork? I'm full up."
no subject
Well, that did provide a certain explanation why he'd thought to go to the station for information when he first got her.
no subject
He looked over the counter to make sure it was neat.
"You were expecting a suit?"
no subject
She said the last bit with a reverence that if it was indeed classified, then it was the end of that and she'd leave it with respect.
no subject
"I'm here to look out for a friend, actually. Pulling the telecommute to do it, since the team all agreed it'd be best if someone was watching out for him."
He leaned his head in the vague direction of the school.
"He's teaching up at the school, some kinda course on strategy games."
And if you asked Morgan, he needed the leave.
no subject
And that she said with the sort of amused shock that she was suddenly someone who actually had office hours. Her parents were truly proud; they wanted her to be a lecturer like them, and not a cop.

And the view only improved when Daisy smiled. That helped too.
"His name's Reid, Spencer Reid. You see somebody rocking the librarian look, long blond hair, can't imagine handing him a gun?" Though that wasn't entirely fair, since he knew Reid knew how to shoot that thing. Now. "You found him."

He glanced back at the office, looked over at Daisy, and finally shrugged.
"You want something to drink? I've got some pop back here in a cooler since I've been working."

"It's a fine figure," he said with a spread of his hands. An entirely appropriate spread of his hands.
"I can't blame you for wanting to keep it. But I'll see you around, Detective Constable? Daisy?"
no subject
"Ta, I'm pretty fond of it myself," she said, and she nodded. "Daisy. At the moment. Hopefully more Daisy than Detective Constable. I'll let you get back to your work, but I might have to start up a project so I've got a reason to come back and check out," him, but she pointed toward some wiring, "what you've got in electrical here a little closer."
no subject
"Take care now."
no subject
no subject
"Anybody home?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm here. Just working on the computer back here. What can I do ya for?"
no subject
no subject
"And we got him. Save a little kid too."
no subject
He'd probably notice that she was mostly fine... except for every once in a while flexing the fingers of her right hand, as if they were sore.
no subject
"Pretty often. Our liason, JJ, she's got a stack on her desk that she has to go through every day, picking out the right cases, the ones where we can help the most. We do recommendations and profiles for law enforcement officials who ask, using the details they give us, but for the real deal, we hit the jet. Usually if we get a break, it's just because it turns out they caught the guy without us."
no subject
And yeah, she did know something about that.
no subject
The question about the trial got a grin.
"Not much of a trial when we found the last kid in the guy's house," he said, "not to mention tools matching the markings on the previous victims. Hotch took it personal" because it was kids way too close to Jack's age "and got the guy to confess on top of that so..."
He spread his hands.

"Hey, as long as it isn't me, people can be whatever they want. And I notice you're still on two legs."

"Yeah, that's the way to go as far as I'm concerned. Got enough stuff around here trying to mess with your brain as it is, right?"
no subject
"Soooo true. Plus, who knows what it would do to my brain? We went to another planet, and the spice in the air gave me nightmares. I don't need kitten-dreams." Dinah made a face. Then looked thoughtful. "Although maybe they'd be cozy..."
no subject
Excuse him, he was going to stare now.
"Nightmares?" came out a little softer.
no subject
no subject
No, he would have to be careful.
"That doesn't happen to often, does it? The nightmares?"
If she needed someone to talk to about that, well, he wasn't Gideon or Hotch, but he'd be there.

"I'm gonna ask you, Dinah, as a favor, to me: don't worry about me. And be careful with touching me, all right? I see some stuff..."
He rubbed at his face and his other hand gripped the counter.
"I don't want a nice kid like you to have to see that, okay?"
And he didn't exactly want anyone to see some things.
no subject
"I promise. I'm a lot better at shielding, but--" She sighed. "Yeah. The insides of some people's heads are very messed up. I know." She shrugged then. "Can't promise not to worry, though. Sorry."
no subject
"One out of two ain't bad."
He just hoped that whatever she dreamed of, it wouldn't be a crime scene. He really hoped it wouldn't be.
no subject
"Cool." Dinah grinned at him, bopping her hand on the counter with a tiny wince. "I should get going, I've got Magic Reserves in an hour or so."
no subject
Just roll with it, Derek. Play it cool.
"Got it. I'll see you around?"
