Caritas - Thursday evening [Open]

Ben rushed in the door just as Tino was opening up. "I'm here, I'm here!" Ben said. He looked like hell - Tino's expression made that clear - with his face being all bruised, but he was here. "Traffic was murder," was all Ben was going to say about it to Tino.

[OOC: I'm around! And while Ben does look pretty beaten up, he's in a good mood.]

The zombies look much, much worse than Ben.

Tino looks better than Ben.

"Hey Boss," Layla said hopping up on a stool at the bar. "Glad to see you survived."

"... What, you didn't know I would?" Ben asked.

"What a girl can't say things in a conversation?" Layla joked as she fished through a bowl of pretzel's. "I knew you'd live. The sad part was sacrificing a pineapple-anchovy pizza to ruin your motorbike."

"How do you do that?" Ben asked. "How could you possibly know that I'd be right there at just the time that a guy with a cousin who could fix it was running a red light? Or anything else, for that matter?"

"I told you," Layla said as if it was the most obvious thinking in the world. "I'm Layla Miller. I know stuff."

She bit into a pretzel and grinned. "Can I have a Shirley Temple? Extra cherries."

"Sure," Ben said as Tino started making the drink. As an aside, he said, "Tino's doing the actual work today. I'm just here for sympathy tips."

"So you actually knew how this was all going to turn out for me?"

"Yes, but the question you really should be asking is how I was able to get your underwear into the costume box," Layla joked.

"Well, that one's easy. You opened the box and put it in," Ben said. "I'm more curious about how I hadn't found it at some point in the past year."

"The costume? Scrier had it hidden in the store. When he was ready for you he would have manipulated you to find it," Layla replied. "Soooo I gave you a little jumpstart so that wouldn't happen."

"Just so you know, you are getting a raise for all of this," Ben said.

"Which is much appreciated," Layla said sipping her drink. "Though totally not the reason why it happened. However since it puts money in my pocket? I'm not going to argue with you."

"You helped me out a lot," Ben said. "Plus, you've gotten the shop better organized in a couple weeks than I've managed in nine months. That deserves some kind of recognition, so it's either that or a plaque. And I don't have a plaque to give you, so...."

The tables are shinier than Ben.

Teeone looks more mechanical than Ben.

This thread looks less in character than Ben.
