Luke's Diner, July 27 (Monday)

At around 5:30 in the morning there was a commotion from the back of the storage closet in the diner; at precisely 5:38:42, the storage closet door came flying open and Lacey, drenched in two kinds of cream soda, came stumbling out. Never mind that anyone who might've gone rooting in said closet over the past week wouldn't have seen her there, or even suspected that there was a carbonated beverage-related altercation -- evidently there were dimensions to the storage closet that were heretofore unsuspected.

It might be a good, safe bet that the negotiations hadn't gone well, but at least they let Lacey out A) in time for her shift and B) with enough time to run home, shower, and change.

Dude, I got home at 1 AM and didn't get to sleep until almost 4, and was up at 6:30 anyway.
