The York Gallery, Wednesday August 5th

Shilo was still in somewhat of a sugar coma today. She got the floor swept up and put out a bowl of leftover candy from the previous night's festivities before starting to doze at the reception desk.

"'Girl thing' my ass," she mumbled, thinking of the previous night's radio broadcast. "It was totally open to guys too..."

The York Gallery is open.

Liir approached the desk carefully, making sure not to swing the bags of food too loudly.

"Shilo?"

His tight smile was all the answer given to that before he spoke.

"Shilo. How are you doing? Did you bring lunch today?"

He wiggled the bag.

"I've a moddable sandwich, some lemonade, and white chocolate blueberry ice cream in here. You're welcome to one of each, compliments of the Cafe Fina."

He chuckled, just a little, and pulled out a jar of the lavender lemonade, a serving of the ice cream, and opened the bag of sandwiches for her to grab what she liked.

"Just... trying to be helpful."

He needed it, after last week.

He shrugged.

"Well enough. I'm learning just how much I already knew in some cases."

He shook his head.

"Thank you, but I've been tasting at the ice cream all morning. Best I keep it to that. How about you? How are your workshops?"

"I've never taken one, to be perfectly honest."

Mostly because my mun is one of the ones who teaches them.

"But I'm taking private instruction from the Lady Glinda. She's actually from my world. It's quite different from what I was used to doing, but interesting itself."

"She's... quite interesting. An old friend of a relative, which makes things awkward at times. But I'm glad she's here."

And not there.

Say no to Largo!

"When I first came here," he shared as he leaned on the counter, "there was a professor from something like five hundred years in my world's future. It was very odd, what he thought was myth and what he learned to be truth. And the things he told me about Oz's future were very strange."

"You're from this world's future, then?" he asked curiously.

"You and I both," he said quietly, "so I wish you good luck. Worlds don't change easily, I'm afraid. They're stubborn things."

"And hope to hell it works," he agreed with a smile, "yes, yes, I'm with you there."

He tried not to chuckle smugly, but it didn't quite work.

"Glad you enjoy. I'm going to head out for the moment, but you enjoy your lunch, of course."

He paused for a moment.

"I'm glad to know you as well. To call you friend."

Then he slipped out of the door, smiling a little more genuinely.
