Caritas - Sunday evening [Open]

Tino was just going about his business solo tonight. Washing glasses, reorganizing the bottles on the back bar, doing all the little things that needed to be done before opening.

And then, after putting a bottle down, he turned around to find a short, black and white puppy thing in front of him. The puppy thing started singing.

"I am a Warner Brother
And I'm here to help you out
I don't mean to be a bother
So wipe away that pout
I don't know much about beer
Whiskey, wine, or shots
But I learn fast when I see or hear
And now I'll learn a lot!"

Yakko then started pulling bottles off the shelf and reciting their names in an order that - quite astonishingly - managed to rhyme. Tino was impressed. But when Yakko moved onto the song about mixed drinks, Tino took one for himself. He was going to need it tonight.

[OOC: Oh god. What have I done? Just as a warning, if you don't mod Tino, you hereby agree to me being insane at you.]

The band seems to be playing a lot of music that wouldn't seem out of place on a kid's cartoon from the 90's for some reason.

Where Tino is weeping into his drink while Yakko balances shot glasses on his nose... and then they all fall off... again...

A place of relative safety from Yakko.

Cleaning the common room took longer than Joan thought and she was glad to be able to come down to Caritas, get a soda, and settle in to one of the couches in the lounge to relax.

Raven joined her a moment later, sitting very gingerly on the couch due to the new tattoo on her back. She didn't want to heal it for fear of ruining the design, so she was allowing it to heal natural.

"Hello, Joan," she said. "How was your day?"

"Busy," Joan said. "Kate and I cleaned up from the party last night. How about you?"

She noticed that Raven was moving more carefully and it concerned her.

"I am well," Raven said, trying to find a comfortable position. Pillows helped. "I am sorry I did not help you clean up. I went out for a walk this morning and it took longer than I had anticipated."

"You don't have to apologize," Joan assured her. "We threw the party; it was our responsibility to clean up."

After watching Raven shifting for a few moments, she finally asked, "Are you okay?"

"I did something very spontaneous today," Raven admitted with a small smile. "I have some discomfort now, but I am told it should ease soon."

Joan raised her eyebrows. "What did you do?"

She really hoped it wasn't sex.

Of course not! Raven had sworn off sex. At least until the next smooth-talking manipulative boy came along.

"Have you ever been to Ink and Holes?" she asked.

"The tattoo and piercing place?" Joan asked. "Can't say I have."

"I had not before today," Raven said. "But I passed it while on my walk today, and I decided to go inside. I now have a tattoo." She could not help but beam proudly.

"Seriously? Can I see it?" Joan asked. "Did it hurt?"

Raven shifted her position, lifting the back of her shirt and peeling back the bandage so Joan could see the tattoo of ~~"I love Chuck Bass"~~ a raven on the small of her back. "It hurt somewhat," Raven said, "but nothing I could not bear."

Joan leaned forward to study it. "Wow, that's really pretty. I don't know if I could do it though."

"I wanted to do something that I chose," Raven said, smoothing the bandage back into place and pulling her shirt back down. "Something I wanted, not what someone else told me."

"Good for you," Joan said, leaning back in her seat and sipping her soda.

"I feel strangely liberated," Raven said, settling back into a comfortable position.

Joan smiled. "I'm glad. Did you have fun at the party last night?"

"Yes, I had an enjoyable time," Raven said, but a shadow crossed her face as she remembered speaking to Dinah.

That look did not go unnoticed. "Except for?"

"I spoke with Dinah for the first time since the events of the other Fandom," she said. "It was not a festive conversation, but one that was needed, I think, at least for my part."

"I'm sorry," Joan said. "Did you guys run into each other there?"

Raven nodded. "Do not be sorry," she said. "It was in the end a good conversation, I think. Just not one I expected at a party."

"Yeah, I can understand that," Joan said. "But you feel okay about everything right now?"

"I think so," Raven said. "I know there are things I must decide, especially about whether or not it is safe to express my emotions, but I am feeling somewhat more at ease with what has happened."

Joan nodded. "I think that your best bet is to take it slow and not make any hasty decisions."

Like jumping in bed with Chuck Bass.

Please. She had "Do not listen to Chuck" as a personal mantra now.

"Yes," she agreed. "That is the difficult part. The emotions I have kept in check for all my life are so strong now. It is not easy to open a door and not allow all of it to come out."

That made perfect sense to Joan. She couldn't imagine completely denying her emotions for her entire life.

"I'm here to help in any way I can."

"I know, and I thank you for it," Raven said. "I am lucky to have you for a friend."

Joan wondered if Raven would feel the same way about that if she knew that God talked to her on a regular basis.

She smiled though. "Likewise."

"How are you and Liir doing?" Raven asked. She didn't have much of a basis of comparison for relationships, but she was curious.

"Uh, okay, I guess," Joan said. "I think we'll probably go out again."

Raven nodded. "Good," she said. "I think you make a nice pair."

"Thanks," Joan said, her cheeks feeling kind of warm all of a sudden. "He's really nice."

"I still do not quite understand why he gave me that book, however," Raven said. "When did you want to look at it?"

"Oh, right, uh, tomorrow after classes?" Joan suggested.

She was a little concerned about why Liir had given Raven that book too.

"Yes, that will do," Raven said. She didn't quite get it either, but she knew Liir was trying to be helpful, so....

"Do you want to come by my room? I ~~handwavily~~ moved in with Penelope this week, so I'm in 332 now," Joan said.

Raven was glad Joan had offered, because she wasn't sure she wanted Diana to see the book. "Yes, I will bring it there tomorrow afternoon," she said. In a bag. Wrapped in a towel. Or something like that.

Joan nodded. "I only have morning classes, so I'll be around most of the day."

"And I will be done after Destiny and Free Will, which is after lunch," Raven said. "I will come by then."

It's even farther away from Yakko, but it IS an enclosed space and you might not be able to make it to the emergency exit if he closes in.

It was bound to happen eventually.

Your brain scares me sometimes.

Only sometimes? I clearly need to step up my game.
