Outside the school gates- Tuesday evening

Seeing Jaina dressed in black wasn't anything new. The face paint was, though.

So was the fact that she seemed to be trapped inside a box. You could tell, even though she wasn't saying anything, because she was placing her palms on the invisible walls and looking trapped. See, totes in a box.

[I got an extra icon slot, I had to go the mime route. So so open.]

On his way back from being platypussed, Zayne couldn't help but be curious about Jaina's face. "Good evening, Jaina. What's with the paint?"

"Are you okay? Is that kind of spasm?" Zayne asked, trying to keep track of whatever she was chasing.

"What do you have there?" Zayne asked, terribly confused. He was watching her hands intently, really curious about what she had caught.

Besides possible insanity.

"Jaina, are you okay?" Zayne asked. "Did you hurt anything?"

It was slowly dawning on Zayne that he'd seen this kind of thing before. Because, believe it or not, there WERE mimes (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rewello) a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

"Better luck next time?"

Lois had planned on an evening of drinking but that alllllll changed when she saw Jaina outside the gates.

"Should I be getting my good camera?" Cell phone pictures were good but hardly yearbook worthy.

[identity profile] armybrat-lois.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Wow. This is...utterly terrifying." Mimes were a hop, skip and a jump away from being filthy clowns, you know.

Still, Lois wasn't about to let scary stop her from whipping out her cell phone to catch proof of this. Had to keep John up to speed, you know.

"That's...that's some talent you've got there, Jaina," Lois said, barely stifling a laugh. "Can you do the rope climb thing?"

[identity profile] armybrat-lois.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
That time Lois did laugh. A lot. "Hey, do me a favor and pose for my camera."

[identity profile] armybrat-lois.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh that is excellent," Lois said as she held up her cell phone to take a picture or two. She really needed to make a habit of carrying her good camera with her at all times. "You look just beautiful."

And scary.

Lois grinned. "Sorry about that!"

Layla had popcorn. And a seat on the bench.

What? There was a show!

[identity profile] iknowstuff.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Gosh Ms. Mime," Layla commented as she snacked on her popcorn. "That looks like hard work. Would you like a cold frosty beverage?"

[identity profile] iknowstuff.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry, I only have popcorn," Layla said sympathetically.

[identity profile] iknowstuff.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Better not slack off too much," Layla called out. "Your boss might come after you."

Oh, this was terribly exciting. Alice didn't have any face paint, but she was going to see if she could join in. She was -- oh! She was in a box, herself! Except her box had a hole in it, around knee level. If she crouched, she could stick her hands out and wave them around. She tried crawling out, but the hole was far too small for that. How unfortunate.

Mime narrative was, at times, dramatic! The exclamation points were totally necessary at those times.

Such as now! The box rocked once, twice, and then spilled over, and Alice fell to the side in a big rolling flop that would have been far more impressive had she been wearing her pinafore.

She dusted her hands off on her jeans, instead, and bowed her head solemnly, to thank the painted mime for her kind assistance.

Alice appreciated the generous show of support. Mime solidarity was so important these days! And so she pulled herself to her feet, quickly, and threw an invisible rope to the other girl. Here! Perhaps that would keep her from falling over!
