Magic Reserve - The Preserve, Wednesday

Unlike other weeks, today there was a very large amount of food at the meeting. Pies and pudding--the kind people here liked, not the real kind--and what appeared to be eggs. Piled on the ground next to the food were a bunch of clean shirts, some of them still stained by paint.

Either it was time for a Rocky montage or something interesting was going to happen today.

"Welcome back everyone! Or welcome for the first time if you haven't been before."

Because there were so many new people with this last semester!

"We'll be following the example of yesterday's meeting with a different twist based on our skill sets. When there are... interesting rains of items how would we protect ourselves and others from harm? Some of us might be versed in shielding from attacks. This is a time to practice those abilities and perhaps teach others to do so as well," Merlin said with a wide grin.

Karla shared Merlin's grin, and would be humming "Eye of the Tiger" if she had any idea what it meant. Or that it existed at all.

"Fighting under less than stellar conditions is only good if it impedes your enemy more than you," she said, tossing an egg lazily in the air. "To our benefit, we know Fandom better and while we don't expect the crazy rains, we know they occur and won't waste a lot time being surprised if and one happens in conjunction with an attack. And while those are good benefits to have, we can always improve. Knowing such conditions are possible means that we know that's something we could--and should!--prepare for."

Merlin nodded seriously, picking up an egg as if to demonstrate something. Luckily he knew nothing about drugs and eggs and your brain commercials.

"So, we'll be practicing today." With that said, he slapped Karla on the back with the egg. "With a food fight!"

Raven was there, eyeing the eggs dubiously. Fandom, it seemed, was attempting to make it difficult for her as a pacifist this week.

Arthur was there, trying not to snicker - it wouldn't do to lecture Zack on it, and then do it himself - and staying well out of range of any eggs.

Yeeeah, Francine wasn't making pies for throwing purposes, thanks. But she would show up to sneak unthrown samples take notes and pretend there was anything someone with totally unreliable second sight could do about pudding rain.

Diana was there, with Samuel. She was regretting bringing Samuel about as much as Samuel was regretting being there.

Jonothon was there, and looking just like a guy who had been up all night trying to sponge-bath pudding out of his hair.

Which was to say, he looked tired and properly disgruntled, and even more so when the food fight was announced.

Kennedy'd shown up to watch again this week. Kennedy'd be way over there, hard pressed not to laugh but noting with surprise and satisfaction that hey, magicky types had a sense of humor after all.

It was easier to laugh when it wasn't the fighting reserve.

Azula was there to observe just like before but her stay would be brief. She did smirk when the food fight was announced. And demonstrated.

Karla shrieked when the egg broke and the cold, wet yoke started slithering down her back. "This is why we shield!" she said, though the words might be a little incomprehensible due to laughter.

And then she was throwing eggs at Merlin with Craft. Lots of them. From different directions.

"Not fair!" Merlin shouted, ducking to try and avoid... absolutely nothing. He was now an eggy mess before he could think of a bloody shield.

Raven kept to the side, unwilling to engage in even a mock fight. If someone attempted to hit her with something, well, that was why her Soul-Self was currently hovering above her.

"You don't want to do this either?" Tara asked quietly, with a slightly askance look at the Soul-Self assuming she can see it.

Francine, as a member of the Support Reserve, knew perfectly well how to prepare for inclement food fights Fandom weather: she brought a plastic umbrella!

From behind which she could launch spoonfuls of pudding at anyone who came near.

She could claim to have had a vision of this week's meeting topic and possibly get away with it, but it's infinitely more likely that she may have had inside information.

Karla was tiptoeing. On the air. Behind Francine. Clearly someone with and egg had gotten there first, but that was okay. She had some green jello that needed a friend.

Diana dumped Samuel behind a tree and shifted the possibilities around him to keep him from getting food stuff in his fur. Of course, she was completely unprotected for those few moments.

Jono was going to have no part in this, if he had any say about it. And that was why he was attempting to sneak out and away, unnoticed. The only way to clean himself off after something like this mess would be to go and take a dip in the sodding duck pond.

Alex was really glad she knew a spell to change into different clothes because this was going to get messy. She'd snagged a couple of eggs via telekinesis and was trying to see who she could launch them at.
