Caritas - Wednesday 9/9

Penelope came into work tonight with two boxes of Ho Ho's. Yes, she planned to eat them all and if you called her Miss Piggy or anything similiar, she might just hurt you. She was entitled to large quantities of chocolate if she wanted. At least once a month too.

Caritas is open.

So Elena hadn't been messing with her and the bar totally didn't card. Score!

Kennedy got a few good rounds of Tino-mocking in before she ordered herself a mojito from the poor hapless guy and just kicked back to check out the sights.

But not the zombies. Ew. She had some standards.

"You found the bar so you've gotta be getting used to the island," Rose said, taking the stool beside her and ordering jack and Coke from Tino.

"Rose," Kennedy replied, waving her glass in greeting. "Come on, the island's not that big. And it has one bar. How hard was that?"

"I dunno, did you just find it tonight?" she teased.

"Maybe," Kennedy hedged. "Okay, yeah."

Rose snickered, raising her glass to Kennedy. "At least you found it now."

"Hell, yeah," Kennedy laughed. "Too many boarding schools in the middle of nowhere. I must've been losing my touch."

"Well, that's gotta be fixed," she decided. "It'd be totally sad to lose it completely."

"Mm. File under Not Acceptable," Kennedy agreed. "But, hey, only two days of classes, means I'm good for keeping my skills up to spec."

"More days of classes would stop you?" Rose asked.

Kennedy picked the mint sprig out of her drink and started shredding one of the leaves onto the bar, just to see if Tino would flip. "So not even. Kinda takes the challenge out of it, but it's better than doing algebra with a hangover."

"Or training half-intoxicated," she agreed. Cause that would - end up badly. Rose made a face. "God, I don't miss math."

"Me neither," Kennedy said emphatically. "Yeah, training half-intoxicated? That's one I never wanted to risk."

"...we tried it once freshman year after a novice party," Rose admitted. "It really, really turned out badly."

"Were you sore for weeks afterward?" And for once, Kennedy didn't mean any innuendo by it whatsoever.

"Yeah," Rose said, making a face then taking a long swallow of her drink. "Also none of us were allowed to do anything but classes and train for like a month. It sucked."

"Ugh. I so hear you there." Now that the mint sprig was a tiny pile of minty bits on the bar, Kennedy finished off her drink and signaled Tino for a refill. "I mean, I love training, but a girl's gotta have some other ways to have fun."

Rose grinned over at her. "Elena and I were thinking of wandering off island sometime soon," she suggested. "Find somewhere to dance and meet hot, anonymous people. Wanna come?"

Cause that didn't sound slutty at all.

Kennedy so cared about sounding slutty. Really.

"Just tell me when and I'm in."

Not dirty.

Much.

"Awesome," Rose said. "And no annoying squirrels to report back."

"Yeah, about that. I still don't believe you about the squirrels," Kennedy told her.

Famous last words?

Good chance of that.

Tim didn't order Guinness just because he liked it. He did like it but that was not the point. He ordered it because he couldn't stand whiskey but Guinness was just as Irish.

He wondered if any other adults would come in tonight.

Oh look, guess who is at the bar!

Hurley sat down, smiling.

"Hey there, beautiful," he greeted.
