Support Services: The Park, Friday after classes

With no syrup rain to deal with this week, the girls were back at their usual spot, at the picnic tables at the front of the main shelter.

"Good afternoon," Morgana said cheerfully. "Thank you all for coming today. We've been looking forward to starting things up again. For those of you who we haven't met yet, I am Morgana, and this is Francine. Our goal here is to support the students when trouble arises, by assisting those who choose to fight and really doing whatever else is necessary. If you are new, please introduce yourselves, because we would like to get to know you. I also thought that perhaps we could take suggestions for future meetings this week. Is there anything you all think we should learn? The CPR demonstration went well, so perhaps there are more things we should do such as that?"

Priestly was there, with his usual plate of sandwiches to supplement the baked goods.

Really, at this rate he was gonna start just carrying sandwiches around with him everywhere.

Today seemed to be the day for baked goods, and Angela hadn't thought about that when she ate before she came out here.

So, for once, she'd left the cookies alone and was just sipping at a drink instead.

"So I was thinking about animal transformations," Priestly said. "I mean, a lot of times people luck out and it happens when someone else is around, and someone knows what's going on and can tell people and feed you bugs and crap." Or, you know, not bugs for those who hadn't turned into lizards. "But what about those who just kinda get stuck without anyone around? Or people who turn into things that people don't just automatically know how to take care of?"

"I dunno. I mean, room checks or something would be kinda extreme, but maybe a 'where's so-and-so search crew? At least a little library of care and feeding material."

"Thanks," Shilo replied before continuing with, "It could be something like grabbing someone's pant leg, or sleeve, in your mouth and just doing a long tug while making eye contact. Then once they've figured out it's a student, it's just a matter of figuring out who's not around."

"I'd really like to have small caches around the island, filled with some rations, a blanket, some water bottles, and a first aid kit. Maybe even one of those special phones that already have minutes," Karla said after some thought. "Just so we're never too far away from a bit of help."

"It's a kind of resuscitation," Morgana explained. "A way to try to help someone if their heart has stopped beating. There are many other ways here, I'm sure, with so many people capable of healing, but for those of us who have no such methods, it can be a help."

Francine was here and munching on oatmeal cookies. There were looooots of those around. She had to do something last night besides be in the room before Katchoo fell asleep or go squirrel-hunting.
