Magic Box, Thursday, 9/17
Tara did not want to talk about why the little dudes in kilts kept calling her a hag. It was a term she could do without forever, thank you very much.
Eventually, most of them left the store, and she flopped behind the counter with a spellbook. She muttered to herself as she read the chapter on energy bolts.
The Magic Box was open.

Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
Right!
He pushed open the door almost awkwardly, but strode in with confidence.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
"Hey, Jak," she said. "Let me know if there's anything I can help you with."
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
You know, Samos did keep telling him he shouldn't touch Precursor technology, but funky artifacts on the island weren't necessarily Precursor tech, right? His hand hovered over something big and amulet-y.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
'Bad juju' being a highly technical Wiccan term.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
Although in this case, the universe at large garnered rather a lot of luck from the fact that Jak, unfamiliar with the place and the vocabulary, was surprised enough by the almost-yelp to pull his hand back and shoot her a look that was an obvious question.
Whatnow?
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
You know. Before someone else made a grab for it.
She rummaged around behind the counter for gloves and a small box. "Do you do magic at all?"
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
He finally found the new one Dinah had made for him earlier that day, and held it up.
Eco is energy, there's lots of types, I can use them to do stuff like running really fast, shooting fireballs, hit really hard.
... Neither Dinah nor Jak were in any way related to Shakespeare, no.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
"I don't know what eco is," she admitted, then ducked her head to read again. "It's ... magical stuff? So you can use magical stuff but you don't do spells?"
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
He puzzled over the word 'magical' for a moment, but then again, that'd been over the store. So, yeah, sure. It was kind of like magic... using? He nodded to that effect.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
She found a box and, very gingerly, started prodding the amulet toward it, gloves firmly on.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
Anyway, why would he disperse to go find Eco when he could lean over her shoulder (kind of. It was more of a respectful loom) and try and see what she was doing with the amulet?
Re: Talk to Tara [9/17]
"Probably it doesn't even do anything and I'm being silly," she confided. "But, uh. I'd feel r-really guilty if someone put it on and got transported to a different dimension, or whatever it actually does."

She wasn't aiming them at anyone, no. That would freak her out way too much.
