Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Thursday

Algren was actually smiling to himself as he opened the Wellspring Arms today with a large tea in hand from the Perk, thinking back over the events of the week.

He had developed a new fondness for tea. And the school's gun club had put him in mind to see what it might take to procure a pistol for himself. It would hardly do to continue borrowing a student's weapons for use during the club, after all, and it would be sensible to have one set aside in case Fandom went and did something... decidedly dangerous, as it seemed prone to do.

Paranoid? Algren? Absolutely.

"Captain Algren," Cable greeted, smoothly - or as smoothly as you could while holding an overeager child by the middle, anyway - as he came down the stairs.

"All two hours of it that we've been up," Cable said, dryly, tilting the kid to keep her from-- it was a lost cause. "Yes. Yourself?"

"Managed to talk her down from turning half the school's population into a snipe squad?" Cable asked, lifting his eyebrows in an amused fashion.

Still holding Jan with one arm, he bustled past the desk - "Give me a moment," - and dug around for the plush giraffe he was fairly sure she'd droppe dthere.

"Ethically questionable?" he supplied, as he produced the giraffe. A few beats of absolute grabby-hands later, Jan had secured the animal, and seemed to be soothed for the moment.

"Maybe a little closer to home," Cable agreed, "The portals have been known to be a little... hard to predict, sometimes."
