Things Reborn, Friday [10/9]

Harper had a present from her dad, a very tacky-looking ceramic coffee mug with a palm tree painted on it. He claimed he bought it while on his trip to Palm Beach, but Harper knew better because it said "Aloha from Waikiki!"

After a few minutes of deliberation, she stuck the mug next to the cash register with a $1 price tag. Being completely disappointed by your parents: priceless.

"Hey Harper," Alex said as she entered the store. It was the un-official visit your best friends at work day. "Where'd that come from?" She gestured at the mug.

"It says Hawaii. My dad claimed he picked it up in Florida," said Harper. "Personally, I'm more inclined to believe the mug."

Harper shrugged. "Yeah, well, that's my dad. I almost wonder what he got my mom after being on vacation in 'Florida' for almost a year," she said.
