Caritas; Friday Evening

Marion was not hiding at work today, which was something Tino was thankful for. He had gotten tired of people bailing on him after last weekend. Marion thought her ducking out last week was perfectly acceptable. Creepers hitting on her was not in her job description.

Fred sat down at the bar.

"Miller Lite," he said. "And a shot of Jack."

"Awww, isn't that sweet," Jack said, coming up behind him. "In a creepy sort of way. I don't have a shot of myself ON me, though. You got a camera?"

"Oh ha ha," Fred said, though he smirked. "I wouldn't make too many shots of you jokes, though. People might get the wrong idea."

With the lighthouse restored, and not a lot of tourists showing up yet, Tully found himself with a lot of time on his hands.

He decided to drown his boredom at Caritas tonight. He needed to get out more and he needed a drink besides.

Jack raised his beer in salute. "Hi! How's the lighthouse? Still..." He paused, completely at a loss for words. "...shiny?"

Tully grinned. "Yep, still going strong. Just kinda quiet. Just me and the ghost."

"Beer," Jack ordered as he sat down, with an incredible lack of specificity. "Something good."

Sophie had had an odd week. And she had things to discuss with Steve, aside from that which needed boggling. A quiet chat with a friend in a lounge seemed like a lovely idea.

With wine. Lots of it.

Steve was always glad to visit with a friend! Especially one who'd had an odd week, since that generally described at least one of his friends. "Sophie! How are you?"

"I'm... well, I'm better than I was at this time last week?" she said, taking a sip of her drink. "How did your visit with your friend go? The one I didn't get a chance to meet, due to unexpected visitors of my own?"

"Bucky," Steve said. "It went pretty well, except he disappeared for about an hour on Sunday. I think he spent it menacing Tony." He made a face. It wasn't like his universe's Tony had even been the one to shoot him or anything.

"At least he didn't hit him... He didn't hit him, did he?"

"He wouldn't tell me if he had." Steve frowned. "I should check on Tony."

"You probably should," Sophie had to agree. "Although why would he threaten Mr. Stark? And I still haven't met him yet. Or talked with him about the theater-- although now I have a better, albeit more complicated idea. Food fundraiser."

"Oh, it's. Uh. Complicated. I have kind of a history with the version of Tony Stark in my home universe. He used to be my best friend, and then. Well. Now he's not any more." Steve looked down at the cocktail napkin he was twisting into a little paper rope, then looked up and said with perhaps more cheer than it called for, "That sounds like a good idea. Food always goes over well."

"I thought so," Sophie said, mildly bemused, then leaned forward. "Is this anything to do with the photos I shot the day you were a woman?" She had her own suspicions about that already.

"No," Steve said. "No, it's nothing to do with that." No, that was an entirely different set of Tony Stark issues. "He sent me photos of his breasts when he was a woman. I had to retaliate." That was safe enough.

"Ah." Those suspicions were now not so much confirmed, as tabled in the 'likely' column, with a saver on 'boys are boys.' Sophie settled on, "I'm sorry the one in your world isn't your best friend any more." Really, she just wanted to hug Steve for looking woebegone and twelve years old. "The Parker from my world visited this weekend. And promptly stopped herself from pickpocketing."

Yes, that would be another few gulps of wine there. That whole thing made her head hurt.

"I salute her self-restraint?" Steve said, sure he was missing something here.

"Younger her," Sophie said, in case that wasn't clear. "No worries about timelines, or consequences, just, 'that's a bad idea' and older-Parker was talking to younger-Parker about what would happen-- did happen?-- if she'd done that." She paused. "Although I suspect she recruited her younger self in breaking and entering somewhere else, later."
