Marshall was kind of upset that it seemed like everybody else in town was off in...in...well, he forgot where they were but he bet it was made of fun. No fair. So he decided to make his own fun and declare it margarita night in the bar.

Yes. Complete with sombreros.

Margaritas!

"GREETINGS, BAR THAT I SHALL RENAME - BAR OF AWESOME!" He liked bold entrances, it didn't matter if the zombies and Tino didn't care to pay attention to his theatrics.

"So I took over the town today, true story," Barney announced, pulling up a stool ~~and some gouda~~.

"Zoe and Mayor Summers out of town?" Marshall guessed.

Barney sighed, completely put upon. "And they left me behind! Can you believe it?" The correct answer was No.

"I, for one, am shocked," Marshall said sarcastically. "And just because they're gone for the week doesn't mean you own the town. You can't even change the name of the bar. Some kid owns it."

"And yet I think I just did," Barney told him. "You know what we should do? Here, I'll tell you." Waiting for people to agree was less fun. "We should turn this week into our own vacation! There's a spa in town, I bet they give happy endings and this place has got to have a dance club as good Kellerman's hidden somewhere. Sweaty bodies grinding to the thump of banned music...me and my pal Penny arriving after a long night to dance the way we want to and there's Frances, carrying a watermelon, ripe and ready to learn the ways of love!"

"I could be up for that," Marshall said. "Save for the happy ending massage, I mean. I'd be a good dirty dancer."

Marshall was under the assumption that people wanted to see him shaking his moneymaker.

"Yes, right after I passed out blindfolds to all the young and impressionable hot women," Barney replied. "Dude, we should make it here, at the bar!"

"I'd be up for that," he said. Of course he would be. "But I don't think you're gonna get all the young and impressionable hot women you think you're gonna get. Aren't they all on that trip?"

"Oh my too-tall friend, you and your married ways. There are tons of tiny gym workers and ice cream scoopers on this island. The problem is that I've been there, done that. Hmm." So still, Marshall had a point.

"Maybe you should have paced yourself."

"...You may have a point there, Eriksen, but I like to think of it as testing the crop early to ensure good growth!" Shh, he might be coming down with the flu.

"That doesn't even make sense," Marshall said. "And you probably shouldn't be talking about women like they're corn."

Mina entered the bar and sat.

"I believe I rather prefer this island being so quiet," she remarked.

"Seriously?" Marshall asked. "I've been bored out of my mind, here."

Well. Mostly because it was Tuesday and there was nothing on TV on Tuesdays.

"Really?" Mina said. "Do you not own any good books?"

"Oh, no, I kind of took a break from reading after law school," Marshall said. "Let the ol' mind rest a bit."

Also, reading was for losers.

"Law school?" Mina said. "And now you tend bar?"

Curious, she thought.

"Yeeeeeah," Marshall drawled out slowly. "I'm...I'm taking a break from that too."

Growing up was scary, goddammit.

"In all fairness I taught first, then tended bar, then taught and tended bar...and now I just tend bar."

"I see," Mina said. "I must admit, the world of interpreting the law has never truly appealed to me."

"It's a lot of work and a lot of Latin but it's worth it," Marshall said. "I mostly want to use it for environmental law. You know, saving forests and ducks and stuff."

"That's quite admirable," Mina said, surprised. "I believe that is one of the most noble goals I've heard from anyone on this island."

"I've never seen it like this before," Tyler contributed. "It's ... growing on me."

"While there is something to say for good company," Mina said. "There is another to be said for radio broadcasts not filled with teenage trysts."

"Not a big fan of knowing who's sleeping with who?" Tyler asked.

"I come from the time of Queen Victoria," Mina said. "Such things being common knowledge is scandalous nearly beyond belief."

"I just let radio say what it's going to say and don't talk about it," Tyler said. "Honestly, I've been here long enough to think people who get all wrapped up in radio are more than a little sad."

"Oh, I'd hardly attempt to censor the broadcasts," Mina said. "I have much better things to do with my time. Especially now that I am managing one of the apartment buildings."

"I'm sure you do," Tyler said, biting back his grin. "Which one? I didn't hear Loki left town."

"The other," Mina said. "I would hardly be pleased of my new position if it meant that Mr. Loki was no longer around."

"Then congratulations," Tyler shrugged, and went back to his strawberry margarita.

Mmmmm, girly drinks.

"Thank you," Mina said. "I hope that such position shall garner me more standing in the local society than my work as a nurse."

Tyler was very pro-margarita -- and, lo and behold, he was in the bar tonight.

"Spiffy hat," he told Marshall cheerfully.

"Thank you!" Marshall said proudly. "Margaritas are on the house tonight."

Mostly because there was no Chuck to stop him from doing it.

"Can you make me a frozen one with the strawberry shit in it?" Tyler asked consipratorially. "And then not tell anybody that's what I ordered?"

Marshall grinned. "Of course! I'm a master of the stealthy margarita making."

Mostly because he got a lot of crap for drinking girly drinks himself.

"I think you just became my favorite bartender, Marshall," Tyler said solemnly.

Free strawberry margarita. He might even mean it.

And that would be Gibbs... attempting to do his thing where he sneaks up behind Marshall.

"You only serving Margaritas tonight?"
