Robin was not especially thrilled to be back from vacation, woefully. Especially not when Tino saw her come in and then "accidentally" knocked over a stack of cocktail napkins.

"Pick those up," Robin replied. When Tino didn't, she started to head over to him, idly rolling up her sleeves.

For some reason, that made him hop to. Huh.

[slowish but around! ETA: DAMMIT HOW DID IT TAKE FORTY MINUTES BEFORE ANYONE TOLD ME THAT I HAD THE WRONG DAY? I haven't even DONE Thursdays in like MONTHS.]

Max led the way into the bar, his drinking buddy for the night ~~modded to be~~ not far behind him. "I'm glad you could make it out tonight," Max was saying. "Not that I'm opposed to drinking by myself, but sometimes it's nice to have the company." And bring it with you instead of picking it up at the bar.

"I can't stay out too late," he said with a grin that said he wasn't whipped because dammit, he'd killed a lot of people once upon a time. "I haven't seen my daughter in a week."

"Man..." Max shook his head. "A parent. Do you even sleep anymore?"

"More than I did a few months ago," Anakin said. "She goes for four or five hours at a stretch now. Want to see pictures?"

"If I say 'no' do I still have to look at them?" Max laughed.

"Yes, and there would be glaring," Anakin said, waving Tino over with a quick hand gesture. "You don't want that."

"True, true," Max grinned. "Go ahead. I promise to make the appropriate cooing noises and so on."

They were quite the manly pair, huh? Anakin pulled out a ~~small mountain~~ pile of photos of a tiny little girl with giant blue eyes and very little hair. "This is Juliet," he said proudly.

Max whistled. "She's beautiful," he said in all seriousness. "Are you already planning elaborate ways to break the legs of all the boys who are bound to be after her?" Boys like the one Max had been when he was younger.

"It doesn't have to be elaborate," Anakin said, eyebrow quirking up protectively at the whistle. "Just effective."

Ask Juliet's big sister about what Anakin did to her boyfriend, for instance. Mmm. Carbonite.

"True," Max agreed. "And I imagine you have effective down pretty well."

He took a sip of his drink and smiled just a bit. "Seriously, though, congratulations. I mean, I don't think I could handle something like that, but..."

"Depending on the universe, I'm the father of three," Anakin said with a grin. "Twins who are twenty-one and Juliet, who's not. Fandom makes things interesting."

"Oh, man, I hope I don't run into any kids of mine from another universe." Poor Max. He's still on the island.

"Wait until after Prom," Anakin recommended with a laugh. "Every horrible one night stand can have a terrible, terrible consequence."

"I'm pretty sure I'm terrified now. I need a drink." Good thing there was one right there in his hand.

"You have one," Anakin, the observant Jedi that he was, pointed out.

"Lucky me," Max grinned as he took another drink. "Did you ever see yourself here? Married? Kids? Teaching?"

Anakin snorted. "No. My Order frowned--heavily--upon two of those three. Jedi don't marry, at least not during my time."

"This is that humorless order you mentioned the other night." Max shook his head. "How'd you get roped into one of those, anyway?"

"Being a Jedi is a great honor," Anakin said. "We were beacons of justice for the galaxy, always on the front line to prevent wars from escalating and conflicts from erupting into battles."

Well, until that didn't work any more, but that wasn't entirely the Order's fault. Anakin.

He shrugged a shoulder as he drank from his glass. "And I was nine."

Baaaaaack roooooooom.

Omg why am I so tired, guys? Why?
