Caritas; Friday Evening

Marion was at work today. She so was. She just wasn't out at the bar part. For reals. But Tino would be glad to help you. Well. Not glad to help you. But he was there. And he had to help you. Because that was what he was being paid for.

Why I am I listening to Christmas music?

I should be listening to Halloween music.

Like Werewolf Bar Mitzvah.

Geoffrey was enjoying a halfway decent beer. He usually avoided beer, but he was in the mood for something harvest-y and this pumpkin ale wasn't half bad.

Sophie was not going to try something that holiday-themed, but she was happy with her hard cider. "So. Any more portents or omens?"

He shook his head.

"Nothing yet," he admitted with a quick smile.

"Just a sign that my night is improving."

Sophie smiled at him over the rim of her glass, and moved slightly closer. "So. Are you going to be doing anything for the holiday, tomorrow?"

"Other than giving out what candy I could managed to get" which was mostly candy corn "not much. It's been a while since I was trick or treating."

"I would suppose so," Sophie said, amused. "Although the urge to be in costume still persists... who would you be going as?"

There was a snort.

Really, Sophie? Really?

"I'm my own costume. Or I could always see if I could find a straight jacket, considering."

Really, Geoffrey.

"Oh, no, please don't. Having to get you free of one of those holds little appeal. Mind you," she said thoughtfully, "I played a psychiatrist once. But excessive detached nurturing isn't what I had in mind for this weekend."

That made him raise an eyebrow.

"Oh? What did you have in mind?"

Sophie considered and discarded several answers, and finally settled on, "More hands-on therapy, I should think. I understand massages are regarded as a very beneficial for those experiencing stress?"

That made him smile.

"You know, they say doing something good for others makes us feel good. So I might have to return the favor."

"I would hope so... even without seeing your qualifications for the position," Sophie teased. "But I assume that previous experience left you able to render aid to those in need?"

"You'll have to tell me if I'm rusty," he told her with a little smile.

"Oils help with that, I believe. And I have several," Sophie sipped her cider, in no hurry, laughing silently. "And taking time."

He finished off his own beer.

"I always try to take my time."

"You do have a thorough understanding of the material we've already covered," Sophie said, her voice tinged with amusement, and taking another pull on her cider. She put it down, spun it on the little bar mat, and gave him a sideways look. "Soaking first also assists in the project, I believe."

"Does the lady have a large enough tub for, perhaps, a shared bit of soaking?"

"The lady has a wonderful restored antique over-sized lion-footed bathtub, in fact. With shower attachments."

"The gentleman is a lucky bastard," he said with a short laugh.
