The Perk, Friday Afternoon
After getting back her normal form, Kate had promised herself she’d devote the weekend to human pleasures.
Said ’human pleasures’ included – among other things – walking into town by herself, listening to music on her iPod and smoking as she walked.
She had a destination and a goal, of course. She was in pursuit of one of the most divine pleasures Fandom could offer her at the moment: the Perk’s best hot chocolate with a generous helping of whipped cream.
Hot chocolate acquired, there was a very pleased and human-looking Kate sitting at her usual table. Had she still been able to purr, she would have.

When he pushed his way into The Perk, he didn't know what to expect so his entrance was a little wary while he took in everything to try and gauge what this building was.

She gave a friendly little wave to attract his attention.

"Hello," he said once he was in range enough that he wouldn't be yelling. It took him a moment to remember her name from the murky waters of his memory but he was proud that he did. "It's Kate, right?"

He didn't really want that to happen either. Jonas thought he'd make a rather poor cat. "I'm glad to see you've returned to your normal self."

"What is that you're drinking?" he asked, segueing quite badly but unable to control his curiosity.

It wasn't available at home at all, in fact.
"I know what chocolate is but didn't know it could be heated," he continued. "Chocolate milk tends to be cold."

So he hadn't showered until he got back from class. Therefore people in the perk could be forgiven for thinking he'd just gotten up when he came in for some elaborately named coffee.

Not that she'd been awake too long yet herself.
