Chuck came into work a bit early, mostly out of boredom rather than having an abundance of work to finish. He figured if you were going to be bored, you might as well be bored with a whole lot of booze.

Raven had spent much of the day hiding in her room with a gremlin bite hangover. Fortunately, Caritas had been virtually empty last night, so she thought only Hurley and Tino might've seen the performance. But she had to know one thing, and so she headed down to the scene of the crime, as it were. "Hello, Chuck," she said. "I must ask you a question."

"I'm all ears," Chuck said. He really was, considering there was absolutely nothing else going on today. Boring. "What's up?"

"You do not record the stage in any way, do you?" Raven asked hopefully.

He was Chuck Bass. If he owned something you could probably assume he had cameras set up anywhere. Having to know everybody's business was a bad habit he picked up from his father.

"No, of course I don't," he said easily. "It'd be a waste of money in a place this small. Why do you ask?"

Raven knew he was Chuck Bass, that's why she was asking. She just wasn't sure she could trust his answer.

"I was merely curious," she said vaguely. She really wasn't capable of an outright lie.

Chuck smirked. "This wouldn't have anything to do with a gremlin bite, would it?"

Listening to radio every night was also part of wanting to know everybody's business.

Raven blushed. So much for being nonchalant about it. "Yes," she admitted. "The bar was almost empty last night, but if there had been a recording of what happened, I was going to ask you for it."

"To copy and give out as Christmas presents?"

"No!" Raven exclaimed, blushing even more. "To...dispose of! There is no reason for anyone to see that."

"No, no, you're right. If there was video evidence, it would most definitely have to be destroyed," Chuck said with a nod. "But there isn't any."

"My friends will be relieved," Raven said. "But...you are not lying to me, are you?"

"Of course not." Yet another lie. "Why would I?"

"Because you are Chuck Bass," Raven said.

Chuck smirked. "Fair enough. But I'm not this time. I promise."

How he walked into church every week without getting stuck by lightning was beyond him.

"Very well," Raven said, still somewhat reluctant to believe him, but equally reluctant to think the worst of him as well. "That is a relief to hear, thank you."

"You're welcome. Always happy to be a relief," he told her with a smile.

Relax.

A hangover. I have one.
