The inventory finished Irulan decided to rest easy, brew a pot of tea and crack open a good book.

Irulan is always glad to help and even offer tea!

Aphrodite had marked 'Go see Irulan!' very prominently on her list of things to do, so here she was on Monday, opening the door and looking around for her friend.

"Irulan!"

Irulan put down her book and smiled, "Hello!"

"You were gone, and I so missed you." 'Dite took a seat beside her friend. "I'm so glad you're back." She looked at Irulan. "You are back, right? No more disappearing?"

"No more disappearing," Irulan assured with a smile, "unless duty calls again, of course."

"Good. I'm glad. I got worried when you were gone so long." 'Dite leaned back and settled herself. "What kind of duty kept you gone anyway? You missed the vegetable invasion. All the veggies came alive and tried to eat us."

"The day to day business of running an empire," she answered, "A vegetable invasion! Now that's novel!"

"Novel! It was awful! My salad ingredients came alive and nearly ate Raven!"

She thought about what she'd just said. A smile slipped across her face as she thought of Raven and herself wiping away tomatoe seeds after she'd made the thing explode. "It was kind of funny, though."

Irulan chuckled, "It is funny! Fandom lives up to its ability to be the most bizarre place I know."

"Couldn't agree more." 'Dite grinned.

After a moment she leaned forward. "Irulan, I need your help. I'm throwing a party for the island, on December 13th, a holiday party. But I was thinking -- well, okay, I was reminded by a friend -- that not everyone here celebrates the same kind of holiday, or celebrates in the same way. So I was wondering, do you have a winter celebration?"

"I would be glad to help but I've lived in a desert planet for decades... winter is a foreign concept to us but I would love to help and we could always research!"

Irulan was touched Aphrodite considered her help.

"Duh. Desert, no snow, no winter." 'Dite rolled her eyes at herself. "I should have seen that coming. But there have to be some festivals on your world. Something that you celebrate each year?"

"There are some celebrations, its mostly religious though, would that be helpful?"

"Well, the main festival a lot of people here will be celebrating is Christmas, and that's religious, so, not a big deal. Tell me about your celebrations?"

"They're very crowded and noisy. People from other planets join in the celebrations and we have parades and fireworks to commemorate the event." She told Aphrodite.

"But what exactly do you celebrate? What kind of festival is it? Fertility, harvest, something else? Maybe a festival to thank the gods for something?"

She'd liked those; there'd been lots of offerings with those.

Irulan chuckled, "That's what most of the festivals are in Arrakis. It's a very religious world."
