The Boards - DRESS REHEARSAL! - Tuesday, 12/1

Geoffrey had been drinking coffee for... longer than is really healthy to be drinking coffee when you were someone like Geoffrey Tennant. He'd been checking on the work Morgan had been doing (except the flies because, well, he didn't exactly have a fear of heights, but he had a healthy respect for them and the fact that he startled easily at times), looking in on the sets, making sure the costumes didn't scare anyone, and generally buzzing about.

Two days. They opened in two days!

You'd better believe Karla followed that train of thought. The grin she was giving Dinah confirmed it. "With Fandom's sense of humor, I'm willing to bet the answer is yes," she said, amused.

Okay, so, a little kid with Jak's ears and Dinah's eyes and both their energy would be-- insane. But Adorable with a capital A! "Oh, wow," she muttered, a little overwhelmed at the idea. And frantically trying to reassure herself that she was taking all appropriate precautions on Friday. Yes she was. "Although, I guess, that'd be better than if a kid with someone else showed up, at least with a few people I can think of. Like Chuck Bass. Or..." Oh, well, Jaime. Or Sam. That would be Awkward.

Hell's fire, Mother Night, and may the Darkness be merciful, the energy. There would never be sleeping. Ever.

"Jack Priest and I were talking about that, too," Karla said. "You get to see the outcomes of roads not traveled, but there might be some futures where you have to ask yourself what's wrong with that version of yourself. There are some people here I will be quite disappointed to find myself having children with."

Dinah hooted with laughter, and said, "Or people you've never heard of? I had someone tell me I was his stepmom in another world, in the future, once. He showed up for one of the conventions. Really nice guy, but it kind of boggled me that this thirty-year-old probably calls me 'Mom' somewhere."

Nooooo sleeping. Sleep was boring!

That amount of energy would probably also cut down on the ability of his parents to give him siblings, too...

"Did he say who his father was?" Karla asked, giggling. "And did he call you 'Mom' while he was here?"

"Nope. We neither of us thought that was a good idea. He did say his dad was a crimefighter though. Like him. And that we were happy." Actually, Connor hadn't been able to bring himself to tell Dinah all the crap that had happened before the 'happy' part. "So it's kind of nice to have that as a possibility, when I go home. A maybe-someday."

"I don't think I'd mind a 'maybe-someday,'" Karla said thoughtfully. "At least not a good one like that. It'd be nice to know a little bit about the future. Most webs I spin are pretty specific. And short-time frame."

"So what would yours look like?" Dinah teased. "A nice Consort who wears Dark Jewels and is good with a sword? Or another witch whose a Black Widow too?" Her smile widened wickedly. "Or both?"

Karla's cheeks flamed bright red. "Dinah!" she gasped. "I--You--I mean--NO!"

Honesty compelled her to add "Maybe" before groaning and tucking her face in her arms. "You know, before I came to this stupid school, I didn't like anybody. Now it seems like I've got a thing for half of Fandom!"

Oh Karla, you have no idea...

Hey, Dinah was just passing on the Circle of Teasing from Tony and Priestly to Tahiri and Karla. It was the balance of the universe at stake, here!

"Fun, isn't it?" Dinah giggled and pulled her legs up to her chest, amused. "It's not like you have to do anything about it. Not yet, anyway." She grinned. "It's better to have a someday than to have nothing, I think."
