The Streets of Town [Sunday Afternoon]

Claire had finally found enough information to make an educated guess as to the identity of her father and she was currently on her way to confront the man she suspected.

She just hoped she was wrong.

Claire was silent for a very long moment before letting out a shaky breath.

"I need to ask you something and I need you to tell me the truth."

That... didn't sound good. Jack stepped closer and put a hand out to her. "Sure, anything. Are you all right?"

Flinching dramatically away from his touch, she turned her back to him, her golden locks flowing in a whirlwind.

"Did you... have an affair... with a woman named Meredith... sixteen years ago?"

Yes, those were dramatic pauses.

Jack frowned. "Uhhhh... Probably? I've slept with a couple of Merediths over the years. My ex-wife's sister was named Meredith."

Unfortunately, just then he was hit in the head by a falling meteorite and struck dead.

Claire fell to her knees and wailed up at the sky. "DAMN YOU, METEORS. DAMN YOU TO HELL FOR TAKING BOTH OF MY PARENTS!"
