It was often claimed that the Super Bowl was the biggest night of sports on television, and Clark would normally agree. Except tonight, Tino had the remote and they were watching the Puppy Bowl.

"Come on, Tino!" Clark complained. "It's bad enough I don't get to play sports but you could at least let me eat wings and watch on TV like a normal person!"

Tino responded by stealing one of Clark's wings. It was going to be a long night.

Mirax might have stopped when she saw what was on the television. "Why are there puppies?"

"Tino's hiding the remote," Clark answered, looking a little glum about it. Okay, so there were some cute dogs, but come on.

"And puppies were just on?" she asked, taking a seat at the bar.

"Oh, no. It's the Puppy Bowl," he said, assuming this would clarify things enough.

"Ohhhhh," she said, like she understood. "Yeah, that means nothing to me."

Clark laughed at his own failure to explain. "Sorry. Today's the big American football game called the Super Bowl. For some reason, people started airing this Puppy Bowl at the same time. It's just dogs and cats playing in a pen. I don't see the draw, but some people are enthralled."

"They are really cute," Mirax pointed out. "The football players are probably less fuzzy."

"Something about watching this almost makes me want a dog," Clark admitted.

She nodded, because while she in no way could take care of a dog right now... aww fuzzy. "Think maybe that's why Tino's still watching it? Harboring a secret need for a pet?"

"Considering the guy practically lives at the bar, I can't imagine any pet of his would get much attention," Clark realized. "Maybe I'm too harsh on his love of the puppy bowl."

"Maybe. He could just be showing off a soft spot- Is that a rabbit?" Someone had caught a cheerleader.

"They're the laziest cheerleaders I've ever seen." And the least bouncy. "Just wait till you catch the hamster cam."

She was just going to have to laugh at that. "There's a hamster cam?"

"They're in the sky," he grinned. "In a blimp or something!" It was kind of hilarious.

"That is going to lead to something horrible," she said, still laughing anyway. "Hamsters are not meant to be airborne."

"Thank goodness there aren't any windows in that thing," Clark said, making a face.

"If they can't see out, then what's the point of having them in the air?" She frowned. "Yeah, it doesn't make sense even when I say that."

Clark laughed. "And I meant more like open windows. No dropping them to their deaths and all."

"Thank you for the clarification," Mirax grinned. "But I'd rather think of it less as hamster death and more like it's really confuse the puppies if they suddenly had rodent friends on the field."

Drink to victory in private.

Watch something victorious.

I am not actually watching the Puppy Bowl or the Super Bowl.
