The Park; Sunday Afternoon [ 02/21 ].
It wasn't exactly a trip to the Bahamas*, but the joys of spring break were already becoming clear to Angua. Because while the majority of the population was off to exotic locales, the island was notably free of the scents of all those people on one relatively small space of land. It felt good to be able to enjoy the very rare sensation of taking in a deep breath and smell mostly just air for change, even if it was air over the lingering scents of the population and that ever present aroma of teal that seemed to permiate the general nature of the place.
So Angua was going to just take a nice walk in the park and enjoy it.

*Angua didn't even know what a Bahama was, and, besides, the smell of coconut suntan oil would not be one she was likely to enjoy. At least it wouldn't be peppermint, however.
[[ I have a feeling it's going to be a long few hours at the coffee shop. Open, for anyone else luckless enough to be Bahama-less. shhh. ]]

It was only polite to nod a greeting, after all.

Still. Modern and civil and all that. Angua, while not exactly pushing a smile, could at least nod back. And try to hold her breath.

"No," she said, with a slightly stiff shake of her head, and pushing that smile just a tad more. "I jut...it's so quiet today, I didn't expect too many other people," using the term loosely on both accounts, it seemed.

"Oh, you know," said Angua vaguely, shrugging, trying to take her mind of jugulars right now. "Guess I just need a bit more of the fresh air."

"Thankfully only on Mondays," said Angua. "Which tomorrow, unfortunately, is. What about your own?"
Because, she had to admit, vampires enjoying the sun was a little off the course. Granted, it did seem to be the hip thing with all the Black Ribboners back home. Throwing out all those old traditions and everything. He probably would claim to love garlic, too.

He should excuse himself and continue on his way, but she was offering so little that his curiosity remained piqued. "My name is Dimitri, in case you ever stopped in."

She nodded a little. "Sergeant Angua," she offered back, throwing in the title since they were talking occupations "And I just might have to do that one of these days."
Luke's was rising on Angua's list of favourite dives, as one decidedly not managed by a bloody vampire.

"As of recently, anyway. Haven't seen much action, though, save for a mass murder of trees for all the paperwork. You get that regardless of where you're stationed, though, I fear."

Angua shook her head. "I wasn't even aware of one."

She nodded a little, mostly just wanting to stride off, but managing to at least get out a "Have a nice day," before doing so.

SP's good. Okay if Oz notices now that she's the wolf he smelled in the park?no subject

Oz could usually identify werewolves and Vampires from his own world, and even tell if someone was not entirely human (sometimes). But the scents were different enough from other worlds that it tricked him.
I wonder if she can tell that I'm one too?
"Oh yeah. I guess it's time for spring break. In winter. Go figure."

She kept up casual conversation, though, to make her own subtle investigations. "Are we on the first winter of the year here, or the second?"
no subject
"We really only get one here." Two winters? Yikes.
