Even with the sun out, there was still a chill wind in the airs of Fandom, creating a brisk reminder of what everyone would be leaving behind in exchange for a week of Bahamian warmth. They didn't say it was better in the Bahamas without reason.

As the students, teachers, and guests gathered to wait for the portal to Atlantis, everyone was given a copy of their lodging information and a brochure featuring some of the more entertaining aspects of the resort.

[Up early for SP! The Resort post will be up shortly. Please check to make sure you have a room assignment, and let us know if you were accidentally left off. Also, make sure you have [livejournal.com profile] fh_trips friended so you'll see the posts the rest of this week!]

After handwavily setting Sunday morning as a date for further groveling, Max swung by 'Dite's to pick her up, do a little bit of preliminary apologizing, give her flowers and some candy, and then escort her to the diner. It wasn't fancy, but it was comfortable, and that counted for a lot.

"So, on a scale from one to ten, how would you say my efforts to get back into your good graces are going?" he asked his companion, trying to sound like he was joking and mostly managing it.

[Luke's modded used with permission, Max is here for his date, but Luke's is a public diner. 'Dite also modded with permission. Apparently I am a modding machine!]

It wasn't exactly a trip to the Bahamas*, but the joys of spring break were already becoming clear to Angua. Because while the majority of the population was off to exotic locales, the island was notably free of the scents of all those people on one relatively small space of land. It felt good to be able to enjoy the very rare sensation of taking in a deep breath and smell mostly just air for change, even if it was air over the lingering scents of the population and that ever present aroma of teal that seemed to permiate the general nature of the place.

So Angua was going to just take a nice walk in the park and enjoy it.

*Angua didn't even know what a Bahama was, and, besides, the smell of coconut suntan oil would not be one she was likely to enjoy. At least it wouldn't be peppermint, however.

[[ I have a feeling it's going to be a long few hours at the coffee shop. Open, for anyone else luckless enough to be Bahama-less. shhh. ]]

Tino wasn't dancing at Caritas tonight. Instead, he was cleaning the bar with a rag and glaring up at his first customer.

"Russian vodka," Dimitri requested, ignoring Tino's look in favor of leaning to check the latest hockey score on the television. Just seeing what Russia was up against after their earlier win. It was something to focus on in his less-than-busy day of freedom.

Having gotten used to the dhampir following Adrian around, Tino wasn't phased by size or scary looks and he crossed his arms, refusing service.

"Anything wrong, Tino?" Dimitri asked, realizing he was receiving a foul look instead of a drink.

The angry bartender walked around the bar, threw down his rag, and stomped to the back room, complaining about giants stringing girls along.

It seemed Dimitri would be serving himself tonight.
