Caritas [Tuesday evening]

It was rare enough that Remus went to the bar at all. Tonight, though, he was surprised when he wandered in, and discovered no bartender (save the surly young man who told him that the normal bartender was on vacation.)

Since Tino didn't seem to want to serve Remus, let alone anyone else, he sighed and realized this was one of those occasions he'd heard about on the radio, in which he would have to play bartender simply by virtue of being the first to arrive in the empty bar.

Sigh. There went his fascinating evening of having a drink before going home to write lesson plans. Though it did occur to him that Sirius would probably find this wildly amusing.

[...he's the only one of mine left on the island. :D]

Sirius wandered into the bar and blinked when he saw who was behind the counter. "Moony? Did you get lost?"

"I've been drafted, it seems," Remus commented lightly.

"Does that mean I drink for free tonight?" Sirius asked hopefully.

"No," Remus said, smiling. "It means that you don't have to pay to drink here if you'll remove your socks from the parlor."

"I was never very good at housekeeping spells," Sirius said airily.

Or keeping up after himself. Details.

"Consider it done. Do you have firewhiskey back there?"

"There's a bottle right here. You also have to promise to throw out that thing that is growing its own ecosystem in the kitchen," Remus bribed.

"You want me to throw away Larry?" Sirius said, holding a hand to his chest. "But he's so chatty in the mornings!"

"You named it?" he asked incredulously.

Just then, yes.

"Well, it's been living with us so long, it's practically a pet," Sirius replied. "Are you allowed to drink with me?"

"Maybe just a little," Remus decided, pouring two firewhiskeys. "Don't tell on me."

"Who would I tell?" Sirius said with a smile, reaching for his glass and holding it out to toast. "To a night that we'll remember, as there is no one to drag us home," he added.

"And we are not sleeping here," Remus said, clinking his glass against Sirius'.

"That was only appealing at Hogsmeade because of Madam Rosmerta's..." breasts, "general agreeableness."

And being seventeen and a little drunk.

"And neither myself nor this young man," Remus nodded to Tino, who was ignoring them, "is as generally agreeable as the lovely Rosmerta."

"Or can pull of the shirts she generally prefers," Sirius added, barking out a laugh and then downing most of his drink.

"Hey." Oz greeted Lupin when he came in. "Filling in?"

"Considering that from what I'm to understand, a female Canadian usually works Tuesdays, one could assume yes," Remus said pleasantly.

"Yeah you don't sound very Canadian. You drafted or volunteer?"

"Drafted, unfortunately. It's not been too difficult," Remus replied.

"I'll skip any mixed drinks then. Let you get used to the job first."
