Atlas Gym - Tuesday

Rose was in the midst of a serious if mental debate as she worked. For one thing, it distracted her from scrubbing all the stupid corners of the gym where little bits of gross dried mud and jello had ended up. Not to mention the little slicks of oil drops on the wall.

So yes, on one hand, there was really annoying stupid cleaning to be done, but on the other hand, the reason for the intensive clean had given her the opportunity to talk Dimitri into skipping out of Fight Club and finding their way back to his apartment. Which was way more amazing than she'd ever imagined.

The debate wasn't anywhere near being resolved, especially as Rose turned her attention to the the pile of mats that were next on the list to washed down. She made a face then refilled her bucket of soapy water to start on that project. It was amazing how the one time she'd've liked to see Jessi and make her do some of the chores, the annoying pink spandex girl was nowhere to be found. Typical.

She made a face at the smile and hefted another rag threateningly. "Let's just say that some things are overkill, huh?"

Rose opened her mouth, torn between laughing and being creeped out by the comparison. "Yeah," she managed finally. "Like that."

"Look at you, sounding like a book," she teased. Even if she kinda liked the sentiment.

"Yes, well, they're lucky we put up with them and their nonsense," Edmund said quickly.

"Cause seriously, what would they do without us?" Rose agreed. "They'd be totally lost."

"Wouldn't even be able to tie their own boot laces," Edmund agreed. "Or have clean floors, in your case." Again with the amusement.

"You tie your brother's bootlaces?" she shot back, eyerolly at the amusement. Also at the thought of Dimitri being lost ever.

And Rose was laughing a lot. "This is why I'm glad I don't have a little brother," she pointed out.

"Little brothers have their moments," Edmund assured her as he picked up the rag off the floor and took a knee to wipe at a spot nearby. "Most of the time, though, we're royal pains. No pun intended."

"Of course not," she snorted, but she smiled at the help and turned to scrub some more at her own spot. "So how'd your game of cricket turn out? You beat yourself?"

"Someone came along to play. It was her first cricket game, so I'll politely say that it was a tie."

"I don't know her well enough to comment on that part of her anatomy, but I won soundly, yes."

He went bright red. "I don't really know that it would ever be proper to comment."

Rose grinned at him, way too amused. "Well as long as there's a definite line there," she teased.

Edmund rolled his eyes, knowing he'd been had. "Are you quite done?"

"For the moment," she agreed, smirking a lot.

He tossed the rag back to Rose. "Good. I'll leave you to your cleaning then. Sword practice this week?"

She caught it, and seriously, there should be more helping. "Yeah," she agreed. "Whatever day works for you."
