Atlas Gym - Tuesday

Rose was in the midst of a serious if mental debate as she worked. For one thing, it distracted her from scrubbing all the stupid corners of the gym where little bits of gross dried mud and jello had ended up. Not to mention the little slicks of oil drops on the wall.

So yes, on one hand, there was really annoying stupid cleaning to be done, but on the other hand, the reason for the intensive clean had given her the opportunity to talk Dimitri into skipping out of Fight Club and finding their way back to his apartment. Which was way more amazing than she'd ever imagined.

The debate wasn't anywhere near being resolved, especially as Rose turned her attention to the the pile of mats that were next on the list to washed down. She made a face then refilled her bucket of soapy water to start on that project. It was amazing how the one time she'd've liked to see Jessi and make her do some of the chores, the annoying pink spandex girl was nowhere to be found. Typical.

"It's totally acceptable now," she pointed out. "I'll watch while you go in."

"If it's acceptable, you'd go with me." Not that he had any intention of getting in the water more than his feet.

Rose turned her head in the sand so she could look over at him. "You just want me to get soaked," she accused.

He turned a little her way with a pointed look. "There are easier ways to get you soaked."

"Like what?" she challenged, looking way too amused.

Deciding not to give her the expected answer first, Dimitri made things up. "Let's see, there are buckets, hoses...showers." His words were completely innocent in nature.

Rose shook her head. "What happened to don't make things difficult? There's a whole ocean right there."

Not that she wasn't smirking a little at his last suggestion.

"Dumping you in the ocean is still an option," he answered, his feet digging into the sand. "But I like it better over here."

"Me too," she agreed, rolling over in the sand towards him. "Also it means I don't have to try to dump you in in revenge."

"And wouldn't that be overly complicated," he teased, reaching for her hand.

"I'll just trip your overly tall self into the surf," she teased back, slipping her hand into his.

Dimitri laughed, pulling her hand to where he could better hold it with both of his. "I wouldn't put it past you to manage that."

"Damn straight," she agreed, managing to come closer along with her hand.

He was not about to complain that she was nearer. "I'll take that as agreement," Dimitri replied, running his fingers over hers.

"What else would it be?" Rose asked, reaching up to brush her fingers through his hair.

"A curse," Dimitri answered, trying not to close his eyes at her touch. "Not that I'm complaining." He did enough Russian cursing of his own.

Rose snickered. "A Russian curse?" she asked. Then added hopefully, still playing with his hairs. "You could teach me some..."

"You want me to teach you to curse in Russian?" Dimitri asked, surprised by the request. "Was there something specific you wanted to say?"

"Since I don't know Russian, I wouldn't know," she pointed out, grinning at his surprise.

He was calling bullshit on that, of course she should know what she wanted to say the equivalent of. "Chush' sobach'ya," he replied.

She eyed him. "Chuch sobatcha?" she repeated. "You're totally teaching me like 'where's the mustard', aren't you."

He smiled at her mispronunciation. "I should teach you more polite terms than how to call bullshit on someone," Dimitri reasoned.

"Yeah, but I'll use bullshit way more often," Rose replied. It was totally true.

He believed that. "Then you'll need to practice your pronounciation."

"Is that what you did in English?" she asked with a grin. "Practice your pronunciation of bull shit?"
