Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Morning

Karla was very grumpy this morning. The island, in a fit of whimsy that defied rational thinking, had seen fit to turn her into a stuffed version of those creatures people had been fighting for the entirety of the weekend. There was something very galling about having to get ready for class when one had been getting ready to fight the last time one had limbs.

She continued to fume as she unlocked Dite's shop and marched inside, detailing to herself all the ways she could have been useful this past weekend had she not been plush. What knocked her out of the foul temper was the surprising new addition to the store: a hot tub, smack in the middle of the floor.

Normally, that wouldn't be much of a surprise--'Dite enjoyed making changes with a snap of her fingers--but there were a few other unexpected things around. Like the blue tankini top laying over the edge of the tub. And the men's clothing shed off to one side. And the lingering psychic scents Karla could feel, still trapped in the wood of around the tub. Not that Karla was going to try to examine those. Oh no. She was way too smart for that. She was just going to resolutely turn away and get to her post behind her counter.

Except that turning away from the hot tub meant turning towards the stairs leading down from Dite's office. "Hell's fire, Mother Night, and may the Darkness be merciful!"

[Hot tub link goes to [livejournal.com profile] divinesurfchick's most recent entry, tagged slightly NSFW. Other two links are fine. OCD on its way up!]

Surely Karla wouldn't be too surprised when one Antillar Maximus walked out of the office backwards, laughing at someone inside and wearing nothing but a pair of boxers.

Hmm? Max turned around slowly, then grinned. "Ah, Karla. You seem to have survived the weekend no worse for wear."

He didn't sound as if there was anything disconcerting about his mostly-unclothes state.

Max quirked an eyebrow. "Oh. Well, I'm glad you seem to be back to yourself now."

Then he sauntered over toward the hot tub and began collecting his clothes. Fortunately he hadn't been wearing too much so there wasn't a lot of wandering around searching for things.

Every so often he'd glance back at the office out of the corner of his eye and chuckle under his breath.

"Wow," Max said as he glanced over at Karla, "you must have had a really terrible weekend." At least if her expression was anything to go by.

Not long after Max came down, Lulu came out of the office as well -- fully clothed, thankfully. As her own had been zapped away by 'Dite the night before, she'd needed some replacements.

... That said, Lulu was following Max out of the office, which -- fully clothed or not -- indicated... something, did it not?

"Oh, hello!" Lulu said, her smile bright, when she saw the girl at the counter. "Lovely morning, isn't it?" It should be noted that Lulu hadn't so much as glanced out a window so far today.

Lulu gave her a considering look, then called back into the office. "'Dite? You might want to check on your shopgirl. She seems to be not quite all there."

She stopped by the hot tub to grab the top to the tankini. Please, like she was leaving behind that gorgeous suit.

Lulu blinked.

"And mine aren't?" she asked, glancing down at herself. Yup, still fully-clothed. "Or are you referring to Max?"

Lulu, truly, was more amused by Karla's demeanour than anything else, smirking a bit as she said, "No, I find myself quite in order. Do pass on to 'Dite that I had a wonderful time last evening?"

And without waiting for a reply, Lulu glided out of the store and into the street.

'Dite, dressed in a simple robe, stepped out of the office and leaned over the railing.

"Karla? I'm sorry, Sweet Pea, I forgot this was your day to open the shop. I'll be down in a few minutes, 'kay?" She gave her a smile and disappeared back into the office.

By the time Aphrodite made it down the stairs, her two accomplices had gone. She'd taken the time to get a change of clothes and was wearing jeans with a pink blouse over a white tank top.

Even without Karla's psychic sense, the goddess knew she was probably in trouble with the teen. The first thing she did was get rid of the hot tub, changing it back to the easy chair she'd first been lounging in the night before. Then she dropped down onto said chair and waved at Karla.

"Come on. Come yell at me, then we can talk."

A pouting Karla was different for 'Dite, normally it was Karla yelling at her for some reason. She tried to hide a smile by rubbing her nose with her hand. A pouting Karla was so adorable!

Not that 'Dite was admitting that. Ever. Even as a goddess, she valued her immortal life.

"Lulu is not a bimbo. She's a skilled magic user who has taken up a calmer life now. She owns Cafe Fina." 'Dite wasn't too sure what she did before that.

"Or were you talking about Max?" Oh, look who's making jokes!

So. Charming.

"Are we going to have a conversation, or are you going to continue to insult my sexual partners?"

'Dite realized that sounded a little harsh, and she bit her lip. "Look, a lot's happened, Karla. Lulu was . . . helpful. Distracting. And while I'm sorry you had to see it, can you please let it go?"
