Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Morning
Karla was very grumpy this morning. The island, in a fit of whimsy that defied rational thinking, had seen fit to turn her into a stuffed version of those creatures people had been fighting for the entirety of the weekend. There was something very galling about having to get ready for class when one had been getting ready to fight the last time one had limbs.
She continued to fume as she unlocked Dite's shop and marched inside, detailing to herself all the ways she could have been useful this past weekend had she not been plush. What knocked her out of the foul temper was the surprising new addition to the store: a hot tub, smack in the middle of the floor.
Normally, that wouldn't be much of a surprise--'Dite enjoyed making changes with a snap of her fingers--but there were a few other unexpected things around. Like the blue tankini top laying over the edge of the tub. And the men's clothing shed off to one side. And the lingering psychic scents Karla could feel, still trapped in the wood of around the tub. Not that Karla was going to try to examine those. Oh no. She was way too smart for that. She was just going to resolutely turn away and get to her post behind her counter.
Except that turning away from the hot tub meant turning towards the stairs leading down from Dite's office. "Hell's fire, Mother Night, and may the Darkness be merciful!"

Re: For the breaking of Karla's brain
"This is . . . just a social visit? Nothing more?" Aphrodite remembered well her mental visit to the landscape of Glacia. She was pretty sure Karla wasn't offering a return trip. Yet.
But she had to make sure.
"I think your Uncle would be expecting your student friends -- I'm not sure he's expecting anyone quite like me."
Re: For the breaking of Karla's brain
Possibly to grill them about how she was behaving. But whatever.
"But I want to show everyone what Kaeleer is really like. Unicorns and dragons and honey-pear orchards and talking wolves...I want you to see my real home. The way Glacia should be. The way it will be, when I become Territory Queen."
Re: For the breaking of Karla's brain
It would mean a call to Cupid, and perhaps Bliss. She'd have to be very careful.
The grin faded. "I've never been to another world. I wonder if I'll even have my powers there." Huh.
Re: For the breaking of Karla's brain
She paused and thought about Dite's concern. "Uhhh...maybe?" she said, with a shrug. "We have love, even if we don't have a goddess for it."
Re: For the breaking of Karla's brain
Of course, 'Dite thought, that didn't curently include Glacia. She still wondered at times how Karla got out of there with as much spirit as she had.
