Jane was getting the hang of it already.

Sketchpad opened on her desk, she had taken her time to open a organize everything her incredibly useful assistants have decided to throw at random places -she was specially suspicious of the blond, grumpy one-; it wasn't a bother to her though, since she liked ordering things. It had been all placed where it belonged -or where she thought it belonged anyway-, and she was enjoying the minutes of silence without customers to try a few sketches. She hadn't drawn a thing so far, but she was getting there. Totally.

Strokes of Genius was open.

After the insanity of the past week and weekend, Paige realized she needed something to do in her down time.

She hadn't had much time to paint in the past three years, so she decided to swing by the art supply store and pick up some things.

Oooooh yeah, customers!

"May I help you...miss?" Jane tried to sound kind and interested, and she mostly did, but still, she wasn't trying to sound like a waitress, so she kept herself from approaching the other woman.

Paige smiled. "I need some supplies," she said. "A couple canvases. Some new paints."

Well of course, that's what they provided there; Jane tried to remember where that stuff was as she walked towards Paige. "Well, let's see...ah, here we go." She walked past her, and turned to the specific place she had destined the canvases, paints being right next to it; she knew her system was bound to work. "Any particular size?"

Oh yeah, she was doing a nice job; Jane couldn't help but smile as she did her work.

"Something smallish?" Paige asked. "Maybe like an eight and a half by eleven?"

Jane passed her fingers over the canvases slowly, trying to find the appropriate size. "Here," she muttered as she got the right one. "I hope this is alright; now, about those paints..."

"I prefer working with watercolors," Paige said. "Also, I don't think I've seen you around before. Paige Matthews. I teach at the school."

Jane nodded. "I'm sure they are around somewhere, and no, we haven't met before; Jane Smith, I moved to Fandom recently." And then she offered a hand to shake.

Paige smiled and shook Jane's hand. "Nice to meet you," she said. "What brings you to town?"

The woman smiled back; it was a good handshake, also. "Well, I think I needed a breather from...my other world? And exploring new things have always interested me." Letting her hand go delicately, Jane crouched to pick the watercolors she had spotted seconds ago. "Aha, here we go."

"There are definitely a lot of new things in Fandom," Paige said.

She studied the watercolors that Jane picked up. "Oh, those look great."

Jane nodded to that. "I have no doubt."

A pleased smile greeted Paige then. "I'm glad. Would you like something else?"

"No, thanks, this should do it," Paige said. "I have plenty of brushes. Would you like to have coffee sometime?"

"Coffee sounds like a perfect plan. We should arrange some day after I close the store, if you have the time, so we can sit and talk." She didn't ask her if she worked, because getting a negative answer would probably result on the very question to be...intrusive.

Make 'em work~

I started college today. Again.

...Bugger.
