Atlas Gym | Wednesday

Opening the gym in Beka's stead had seemed like a good idea initially. As expected, Jessi had shown early for her usual classes, but at that point Dimitri had good reason to retreat into his office to field a call from the Academy about some travel plans that needed to be finalized, no matter other issues with his novice.

Dimitri was just stowing his phone in a pocket when he felt the strangest itch inside his ear. Reaching up to scratch it, Dimitri suddenly toppled off his chair and landed in a pool of fabric on the hard floor. Try as he might, Dimitri couldn't seem to grab hold of the fabric to tear it from his head. Annoyed to have his ears pressing against his head, he shook with all his might and popped out from under the shirt.

Hmm. He didn't recall the desk being so high. Or the bag lunch on top of it smelling so good. Dimitri's stomach rumbled. His nose lifted in the air as he sniffed deeply, front paws--paws?--pressing against the table leg before long, sharp claws automatically dug into the wood, dragging him off the ground.

Uh.

This is the part where putting in extra time at work was clearly a poor choice on Dimitri's part. Especially when the door to the office was closed. At least he had that lunch...now, to get at it without his bear bum slipping down the table leg in a laughable manner.

Ah! There it was, and Rose crouched down to get it and slipped it into her pocket before frowning at the little creature. "Hey, I could leave you for Jessi to find," she threatened though her hands were ready to catch him if he lost his balance.

Very cruel, but not so cruel that she didn't reach quickly to try to catch his fall and pick him up. "Hey, don't do that with the falling," she scolded lightly. "What if you fall off the desk and pancake on the floor? It's a long drop for you now."

It was a little odd for Rose too. For one, he was a little animal grumbling at her out of pissiness and not vampire hate. And for another, he was Dimitri who was fuzzy and a little pudgy and so cute.

She bobbled the bear for a moment, unsure of what to do with him, then settled him against her chest, hoping a lot he wasn't going to end up getting angry and savaging her cause seriously. She didn't need claws in her face and boobs, eww.

Yeah, it was totally weird, but she felt mean carrying the bear like a book or something. Could you carry a bear by the scruff of his neck? That really would be cruel, right?

"Okay, um, honey and berries and fish and stuff," Rose decided, grabbing the lunch just in case as she started towards the door. Right, where'd you get stuff like that? What's up with Fandom that made stuff like this totally normal.

"God, you're high maintenance as a bear," she complained, rolling her eyes but it wasn't like she wasn't shifting her grip on the bag and encouraging the wee bear to cling to her hoodie so she could dig in the back and see if there was anything she could feed him.

Oh geez, Rose shook her head at the weetiny bear grumbling and turned her head to press a kiss to the top of his fuzzy little head.

"You pack the dorkiest lunches," Rose teased, extricating half of a sandwich. "Here, try this and don't yell at me if it makes your bear tummy sick or something."

"I'm not going to try to steal your sandwich," she said, rolling her eyes and letting him have it. "Trust me, I don't want your food."

"Is that you want more?" Rose asked, making a face at him. "Or are you totally excited about those carrots in there. Mmm, carrots." Oh yeah, she was mocking him.

"Ow," she complained, wincing as the tiny claws dug through her shirts. Rose reached up to help him make his way up to her shoulder so she didn't have a wee bear sliding back down her chest with this wee claws holding on the whole way. She also offered him the other have of the sandwich. "Fine, no carrots."

Which was appreciated, yes, and Rose couldn't help craning her neck to watch him. "Think you can hold on okay if I walk like this?" she asked, ready to reach up to steady him but not doing it quiet yet.

She snorted, laughing a little as she scooped up the rest of the lunch bag and slid his keys in her pocket. "Please don't fall and scratch me up," Rose said lightly, reaching up to pet his head. "Anything else we need here?"

...the little bear was licking her shoulder. Well, okay the fabric of her hoodie, but still, he was licking. It was so, so weird.

And if he was going to make her wait while he finished his snack, she was going to keep petting his soft little ears.

Rose nearly giggled as the raspy tongue swiped over her fingers. "Don't eat them too," she said quickly. "I'll get you more food, promise. But we stay in here too much longer and Jessi's going to wonder."

It was still understandable, and Rose leaned her head back into him a little. "I'm hoping you're growling and not, like, purring," she said, starting towards the door. "Cause that'd just be wrong."
