Caritas; Wednesday Evening

It had been a while since Chuck had been behind the bar at Caritas, but he'd be lying if he said he hadn't missed it. Compared to his other job, tending bar was easy as hell. He didn't even mind Tino's presence.

It felt like time for a night out, and so Jack borrowed Emma and made his way to Caritas.

He waved slightly to Chuck as he took a seat. "Ready for graduation?" he asked.

"Ready to be done with schoolwork forever? Yes." Big talk from someone who made Sam Winchester do all his homework. "Ready to leave the town? Not really."

"I'm not done with school work forever," Jack said. "But I'm a little odd. I'll be here until July, anyhow, so that's something."

"Yeah, I'm here for the summer too, I think," Chuck said. He shouldn't be, and he knew it, but that was a whole other issue. "So are you heading off to college then?"

"King's College in London," Jack nodded. "... I have to take maths and science, though. So I'll be studying while I'm here."

"You're back to New York at the end of summer?"

Emma sat down beside him awhile later. "Fancy finding you here, Mr. Priest," she teased, eyes dancing. "May I buy you a drink?"

"Oh, I suppose I would let you," Jack said airily. "Would you permit a gentleman to get the next round?"

"If you know any gentlemen, then yes, of course," she replied, all wide-eyed innocence. "But gentleman tend to be stodgy and boring, so you'll do nicely as a replacement."

Jack elbowed her lightly, then signaled the bartender for their drinks. "You realize we've been having that conversation for almost a year now?"

Emma wandered in sometime after Jack, giving Chuck a wave. "Doing quality control on the selections?" she asked jokingly.

"Only the best for my bar," Chuck told her. "There's nothing worse than bad liquor."

"Cheap cigarettes are almost as bad," she replied, making a face. "But you're right, nothing is worse than a substandard liquor in an otherwise perfectly concocted drink."

"Well you won't find substandard liquor here," he said. Chuck shot a look at Tino. "Though the perfectly concocted drink part might vary, depending on who makes it. Decent help is always so hard to find."

"Never really developed a habit for it to start," Mat said. "I see no reason to start now with only two exams left before graduation. How are you?"

Mat didn't have another test until Friday (not that he really studying for his last one on difficult women...), so he felt like he deserved a night out.

"Ale, please," he asked politely as he slid into a chair.

"Oh it's you again," Chuck said, smirking as he remembered prom. "One Ale, coming up. And this one will be on the house."

Chuck felt Mat deserved it.

"Thank you," Chuck said, passing Mat his drink. "As hot as I looked as a woman, I was extremely thankful to wake up as a man the day after prom."
