The Park, Sunday Evening

Let it never be said that Captain John Price was a good influence on children.

He had a blanket out, covered in various guns, ready to hand to the children. Water guns, mind you. He wasn't stupid. From pistols to super-soakers, they were all ready for the taking.

Price himself was wearing a rain slicker. He came prepared. This was basically Price getting all of his grandfatherly instincts out. And yes, he had a bucket filled with grenade-style water balloons in case any of the kids did turn on him.

[ooc: Very open.]

Claire had been on her way to the docks to see if Jack was around to take her on a boat ride, but she was easily distracted by the the man with the toy guns and balloons.

"Hey, mister, whatcha' doin'?" she asked.

Clearly she hadn't gotten the 'don't talk to strangers' lecture enough.

"Oooooooooh I do! Can I play?" Claire was giving him the big pleading eyes.

"I'm Claire! Do I gots to give you a kiss to play with you?"

After all, she had had to kiss Mat to ride the horsey earlier.

"I had to kiss Mat twice to ride his horsey," Claire informed him. "But I can play fair!"

Claire picked up one of the giant super soakers that was almost as tall as she was.

"This one!"

Mary took one look at the guy with the rain slicker and all of the guns, and decided that she needed to do her civic duty.

"Hey mister? You should really keep all those guns locked up," she said.

"It's not funny," said Mary, pouting. "People get hurt by guns."

"I'm not allergic," said Mary, warily picking up one of the water guns. "It's just that you shouldn't be teaching us that guns are toys 'cause someone might start playing with a real one and someone could get killed."

She was rather serious for her age. Then again, young Mary had gone through quite a bit for a little girl.

Mary knew she should put the gun down, even if it was a toy, but something about it seemed familiar. "My dad probably wouldn't let me play with this," she said.

Robin was initially excited by the prospect of guns. And then she realized they weren't real. "These are only water guns," she noted as she wandered up with a sad little wave.

"My daddy lets me shoot with a real gun," Robin told him authoritatively. "I just gotta wear special goggles."

"I wear big earmuffs," she agreed. "I got my own gun. It's my size!"

"A real one," Robin said, because she didn't know gun names yet. It was a BB gun. "I'm gonna get a Desert Eagle when I'm big 'nough, though. Daddy and me go hunting and I'm really good."
