Abandoned Warehouse District - Sunday Night

Tim needed to clear his head, so he slipped out of the room at sunset, his Robin costume stuffed in a backpack. He found an empty warehouse to change in and hid his street clothes in the drawer of a dusty, broken file cabinet. He checked to see if the alley was clear, then climbed up the fire escape to the roof of the building.

Nothing here was tall enough for a real adrenaline-pumping leap, but he could jump from rooftop to rooftop and get a good overview of the place. The island seemed pretty quiet tonight, but he'd need to learn the territory in case trouble showed up.

Raven's Soul-Self disappeared, and she teleported on to the rooftop in a puff of black smoke. "Yes, you know who I am?" she said curiously. "I am sorry, I do not know you."

Tim's arm tensed, ready to throw the weapon if she made a threatening move. "Really? You don't remember the time you attacked my brother at his wedding?"

"I do not know what you are talking about," Raven said, confused. "I have never attacked anyone at a wedding. I do not even know who your brother is."

Tim hesitated. Different worlds. Different timelines. Besides, last he'd heard, Raven was a spirit-form that popped up from time to time to cockblock Roy give messages to the Titans.

"Okay," he said, relaxing slightly. "Maybe it hasn't happened for you yet."

"And I assure you, it will not," Raven said. "I would never do such a thing, I swear on Azar's name."

"There's at least one world where you do, Trigon's Daughter," Tim said. Don't mess with timelines, Tim, he reminded himself. He bit back a further reply.

Raven flinched visibly at the mention of her father's name. "Please, tell me what it is that you believe I have done," she said. "Who is your brother? Why would I want to do him harm?"

"It's your future," Tim said. "I shouldn't tell you anything else."

"Please," Raven begged, taking a step toward Tim. "I do not want that future! I have sworn to defy my father, and to bring harm to another goes against everything I believe in!"

Tim took a step back. "You have to make your own choices," he said, but couldn't help adding, "Not attacking your friends is probably a good way to go."

"I would never wish to harm my friends, I swear it," Raven said, biting at her lip to try to hold back the tide of fear she felt rising inside her. "I would rather die first."

Tim winced. "I don't think that's a good solution, either," he said, his tone a little more gentle.

"If you cannot tell me, will you speak to someone else?" Raven pleaded. "Professor Skywalker is a teacher at the school, and he has been helping me a great deal since I arrived here. I trust his wisdom."

"I don't think you'll find the answers you need from me," Tim said.

Raven looked down at the ground. "Whoever this Raven that you know is, I do not want to be her," she said quietly. "And if there is anything you can do to stop that from happening, please, you must help me. Please."

When she looked down, Tim took that moment to make a quiet and hasty exit.

Raven looked up and Tim was gone. She turned in a circle, trying to find him, but the shadows were still and quiet. Realizing she would find no answers there, she teleported back to the dorms.
