The Perk, Sunday Late Morning

Ino was bored.

Bored bored bored! Which was why, of course, she wound up at the Perk and talked them into giving her whipped cream with a little bit of hot chocolate. They barely even put up a fight this time about it! Ino was impressed.

… She thought she might've just worn them down, really, if she was being honest.

So now Ino was going to take her not-really-a-drink and flop down in a chair over by the windows so she could peer outside at people. And settle down to see what she could 'sculpt' with her whipped cream, a spoon, and a stir stick.

Curing boredom, clearly, meant she had to be inventive. And no, Ino did not particularly care that she was closer to seventeen than seven.

She was totally allowed to play with her food.

[Open, of course!]

Kitty hadn't been in the mood for like real coffee or anything, but something like a frappucino couldn't hurt. So after getting hers from the counter and on her way to the door, she noticed Ino. "New form of art?" she guessed.

Kitty tilted her head as if studying it for critique, then decided, "I really do. How much whipped cream do you have in there?" She looked at her own cup, woefully under-whipped-creamed in comparison. Granted, she'd actually come here for something to drink, not sculpt.

"Just for the artwork?" she asked curiously. The thought had never occurred to her.

"Sure, thanks," she said, taking a seat. "I'm starting to think like writing Emails and stuff when I'm bored is unoriginal."

[identity profile] notavalleygirl.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Longer. Like a lot longer," Kitty said. "Depending on who it's to, I could probably fill up like a whole afternoon adding new stuff in, and then sending texts telling them to Email me back already."

"I don't know. It's just all kind of there, I guess. Like everyone I'd talk to is so far away, so I can tell them all about what goes on here. The fact that laundry attacked means there's a lot to explain, you know? And I always have like a billion questions about what's going on on their side of things." And when X-Men popped up from other realities, that kept conversation going.

"I get a lot of 'no, really?' and stuff like that," she said. "I didn't get too much, but I think waking up with a shirt like trying to smother you is enough. Did you get a lot?"

"Huh. You know, I never thought about that before- for some enormously strange reason- but the sock thing really makes sense," she mused.

"It's so wrong for them to be that coordinated when it's so easy to lose just one of them forever in the dryer," Kitty decided.

Kitty opened her mouth to speak, then said, "In this town, I have to wonder if that's real."

[identity profile] notavalleygirl.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think we could do that," she agreed. "If only to like, save all the poor socks that might otherwise be forever lost."

[identity profile] notavalleygirl.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"We... I don't know. Give it a talking-to? Ask it to stop?" she said. "I doubt it'd be dangerous or anything. I mean, socks."

[identity profile] notavalleygirl.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Or maybe the socks would just be like grateful to get away from the monster," Kitty said. "They might not be hostile socks if they did come pouring out of there or anything."
