Atlas Gym | Tuesday

Atlas was very quiet today. Classical music played softly in the background while Dimitri worked efficiently on the mats with the over-stuffed dummies. Even if there weren't Strigoi active in Fandom, he couldn't very well let his stake-handling skills go sluggish. No matter how much practice he got in with Rose, he still kept up his own training as best he could given the schedule.

Which meant Dimitri had come in early to clean the back room, reorganize the front desk, and check that everything was in order before his trip to Court. It was expected to be a simple trip: show up, visit with colleagues, testify against Victor Dashkov, and return ho--to Fandom.

The workout was really to keep him focused and ready for anything Victor had in store. He flipped the silver stake into the air, silently catching it by the handle and plunging it once more into the dummy - the point slipping past the fake ribcage and straight into the plush heart.

Atlas was open for business.

Even if she and Dimitri had technically swapped days since she wasn't allowed to go to the trial even though it had been her and Lissa and Christian who were most affected by it (not that she was still bitter or anything), Rose wasn't going to break the habit of being at the gym on Tuesday for a while.

Especially when it meant she got to watch Dimitri do his thing with the stake for a while. Sure, she knew he knew she was there, but come on, she wanted to see some showing off.

"Cause coming to see you totally sucks," Rose said, giving him a smile as she moved across the mats towards him now that the stake was put away. "That was pretty damn awesome."

She appreciated him not saying that narrative as she wasn't entirely keen on feeling like she was keeping him from training and maybe not being good enough if it ever come down to it.

"I could use a turn," she said, stepping closer hopefully.

"I dunno," Rose said wryly, as she took the stake, making sure to brush her fingers over his as she did. "The pointy end goes in the other man?"

"I'll try to avoid you," she teased, glancing over at him as she flipped the stake in her hand to get a good hold on the hilt. She probably should stick with something a little more down to earth especially since she'd never tried the move in front of someone - let alone Dimitri - before.

But, hey, being reckless was what she did best, and with another flip of the stake in her hand, Rose whipped it at the farthest dummy, grinning with a bit of relief at the stake sunk right through its heart.

Rose grinned over at him, looking totally cocky. "There's money involved now, comrade?"

"Hey, maybe if you get lucky, there'll be bets on if I pass my trials," she teased. "Play your cards right, and you could make money."

"Just makes it easier then," Rose pointed out, smiling up at him. "I'm gonna need you there telling me to chill out and not be stupid. Can't have all your attention on the bets."

She nodded, smiling as much at his flirtation as what was behind his words. "Don't worry. They won't know what hit them. Kinda like you."

"Oh yeah?" Rose asked laughingly. "What hit you?"

She narrowed her eyes at him, flicking her hand out to smack him lightly in the stomach. "What about now?"
