Atlas Gym | Tuesday

Atlas was very quiet today. Classical music played softly in the background while Dimitri worked efficiently on the mats with the over-stuffed dummies. Even if there weren't Strigoi active in Fandom, he couldn't very well let his stake-handling skills go sluggish. No matter how much practice he got in with Rose, he still kept up his own training as best he could given the schedule.

Which meant Dimitri had come in early to clean the back room, reorganize the front desk, and check that everything was in order before his trip to Court. It was expected to be a simple trip: show up, visit with colleagues, testify against Victor Dashkov, and return ho--to Fandom.

The workout was really to keep him focused and ready for anything Victor had in store. He flipped the silver stake into the air, silently catching it by the handle and plunging it once more into the dummy - the point slipping past the fake ribcage and straight into the plush heart.

Atlas was open for business.

"Well, you know I won't fill your gym with jello or oil," Rose pointed out. "So that's a win already."

Dimitri laughed, "Well, you'd never do anything that had been done before."

"Damn straight. That'd be totally unoriginal," she agreed. "Chocolate pudding maybe..."

Except that would be far more fun with Dimitri present.

"Mhmm," Dimitri eyed her, not believing that one. "Just be sure you clean the mats after."

"Nah, Fred's gotta do something on Saturday," Rose teased.

"I'll be back before then," Dimitri reminded her. "You might have to get Jessi to help you."

"Stop worrying," she told him, rolling her eyes a little even as she squeezed his hand. "Seriously. It'll be fine. I have your phone number if anything happens."

Not that Rose was going to bother him at Court but maybe it'd get Dimitri to chill out.

"You do," he agreed, relaxing a little at her eye roll. "Now will be your chance to prove you can use it."

"Hey, I've totally called you before!" Rose protested.

"So do it again," he told her quietly, leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek. "It's an ongoing project."

She smiled, her heart jumping at his tone. "You're going to miss me," she murmured, sounding both vaguely accusing and smug as she reached up to touch his cheek.

"Very perceptive," Dimitri teased, knowing there was no denying he would miss her. How much, well, that was up in the air.

"Yeah, well, someone taught me all that stuff," she teased back.

Dimitri took the opening given there. "Must have been a difficult task."

"Nah, that shit comes naturally," Rose shot back. "I'm an awesome student."

"With tricks to prove it," he added seriously, still impressed by her display earlier.

Oh yeah, she was still proud of that. Thankfully it hadn't bounced off a rib or something. "Bet you didn't think I could do that," she smirked.

"Not with so much flair," he admitted. "It was an impressive display."
