The Imperial Brim (July 5, Monday)

Irulan found a very nice article on hats and wanted to share it. Irulan negotiated with the Infernal Machine (it disturbed Irulan that she was getting used to this machine) only to discover she required another machine to print the article.

Irulan had an internal deliberation until she finally decided to send out her servant to purchase the much needed but still suspicious machine. There was more confusion about how it worked and just before frustration got the better of Irulan's Bene Gesserit training, the machines finally did their jobs and printed the article.

Now there was a framed article on How to Wear Summer Hats on the table display near the entrance.

It was always good to share information. But sometimes the path to sharing information brought more peril and confusion than she bargained for.

James had wandered by several times, and his peering through windows revealed that this appeared to be...a hat store. Interesting name.

He opened the door and knocked on it to announce his presence. "Hello the shop!"

"That is interesting. Looks like it belonged to one of the teachers here," he said.

He looked around to make sure there were no crocidiles, stuffed or otherwise.

[LJ is not notifying me, so I appologize for any future dropped pings.]

"Mick from Ocker. Austrailia. I did not see his class offered this time," he said with a small shrug.

"It is possible," he stated. "She is a student?"

"Oh? What classes? Which teacher?" he asked, eyebrows raised.

(slowplay is love, of course!)

"Yes, I was in her class. Surviving and Thriving." He quirked his eyebrow. "Fandom is a family affair?"

"Almost a dynasty," he said.

James didn't know about the Skywalkers or the Winchesters.

"Your stepson?" he asked.

He blinked a few times. "Twins, but years apart? This is more of the island's doing," he asked, a bit flatly.

He quirked an eyebrow. "You were younger a few years ago? You do not appear to be that old now." It was hard to tell if he was joking; he had a faint smile and a bit of a teasing tone, however.

He smiled, genuine but small. "So you and your family has survived Fandom. Are surviving, rather. How did you do it?"
