It was a happy Paige who was flitting around behind the counter at the art store today. She had the younger version of her big sister in town and she had taken some time this weekend to cut and dye her hair.

So, yes, she wasn't really getting much accomplished but she was there and willing to help anyone who stopped in.

"Good--...Paige?"

Well, the color change surprised her a bit. "You look certainly happy...and that haircut suits you."

"Hey, Jane, thanks," Paige said. "I get bored easily. How's everything going?"

If Jane got bored easily half the mansion would be in ruins by now. "Everything is going as good as I could expect to be." Or so she guessed. "I don't know if it's just me, but life in Fandom is pretty calm."

"It hasn't been too bad," Paige agreed. "But I've heard a lot of stories. My sister used to go to school here and she's seen a lot of crazy stuff."

"Well, let's hope something else happens one of this days." Suffice to say, too much calm didn't do any good; it didn't do any bad either, but it was slightly dull. "Although I wouldn't like to jinx it and then see people having a hard time..." Jane never considered worrying about something like that.

Paige nodded. "Yeah, I get what you mean. It's been awfully quiet but on the other hand, I don't want to see anyone in danger."

Jane smiled at that. At least they thought the same. "So we are stuck in guilty wishful thinking." She was also wishing for a number of things, but those didn't need to get into the conversation. "Everything else fine for you?"

"Yeah, it is," she said. "My sister is in town teaching for the next couple of months and an old friend of hers is also living with me. How about you?"
