Graveyard: Friday Night

Yep. Another week has rolled by and once again Gunn is back in the graveyard doing his weekly patrol among the gravestones.

And even though nothing has changed in the last umpteen weeks on patrol, he still checks every damn grave for any signs of disturbances or changes that might have occurred from the week before. Of course there were no changes and there probably wouldn't be but that wasn't going to stop Gunn from doing the same damn thing as before.

Why? Hey, it's all about the mission.

[Open for the next hour or two and then SP until late tonight.]

Wesley had hated those few patrols he'd done in Sunnydale, but he had gotten in the habit of doing them, so he figured he might as well keep up the habit here in Fandom. Armed with four stakes and an axe, he went to the graveyard, doing the whole newbie routine of cayying a map and checking it at every corner. He entered the gates and looked around, squinting because it was dark. He couldn't spot anything overtly vampiric, like uprooted graves or any of the typical Sunnydale hallmarks, but he did see someone walking around. Huh. He hadn't really expected to see vampires here. He pulled out a stake and broke into a run, then skidded to a halt right beforehand, chickening out.

"I - patrolling!" Wes exclaimed indignantly, punctuating his words by waving the stake in the air.

"For vampires, you nit," Wesley retorted. "What on earth else would one be doing in a cemetery in the middle of the night?"

"Excuse me," Wes declared, scandalized, "but I'll have you know I was trained by the Watchers' Academy of England to be fully prepared to combat vampires and demons of all sorts. Perhaps you should be the one evaluating your own readiness for such a situation."

Just because nobody dissed scones without getting an earful.

[That's cool, whenever you can is fine. Couldn't pass up this opportunity to have Wes patrol with Gunn... hee. And thanks so much! I like your Gunn a whole bunch as well!]

Wes spun around frantically, stake at the ready, arms hovering over his bent knees. "Where?" he hissed.

"Oh, yes," Wes snarked. "While your dismissive attitude makes it perfectly safe for you to be hunting vampires. Such behavior is fully appropriate for this setting."

He did his best to look stern and lectury.

Wes stuck his chin up and retorted, "I believe I am talking to an immature amateur with no sense of propriety. And my name is Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, not, as you put it, 'English.'"

It was too hot out. Much, much too hot to stay indoors on an evening like this.

That somehow translated to Maladicta taking in the sights of the local cemetery. Perhaps in some odd attempt to see if any Igors resided here and no one knew about it.

Instead she found a dark man, prowling about like he owned the place. Interesting, that. "Out for a stroll?"

"Finding my way around town," Maladicta replied, stepping into time along side him. "Maladicta."

"It seemed like the place to be." Well, other people were there, right?

[identity profile] inneedofcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"And are you one of those people?"

[identity profile] inneedofcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
The corner of Maladicta's lips turned up at that. "I feel safer already."

Oh, this should be interesting. "What sorts of 'nasties' would these be?"
