Pizza Planet- Sunday afternoon
Jane had survived her first week in Fandom, mainly by keeping to herself and not leaving her room. To be perfectly honest, the kids at the picnic had freaked her out some. Everyone was just so nice, and gave her things without expecting anything in return. It was creepy. It went against nature.
Today Jane had decided to do something normal, and that meant pizza. It also meant sitting alone at the booth with a pizza to herself, and staring across at where she felt Daria should be. Despite the issues last year over the whole Tom situation, Jane figured that at this point, she felt okay enough to give a call from the pizza place.
...And got the answering machine. "Daria, hi! It's Jane, your best friend. I'm in Stepford, where the hell are you? Call me back."
Once that was done, it was back to staring at the empty seat. She might have been mentally redecorating it, or at least mentally painting a little mural on it.
[So open.]

Oddly enough, having that fear did not seem to cross over into talking to random people he met along the way. It was the wonderful aromas that had enticed him into this place, and now he realized that it was all so foreign to him. However, there was a girl sitting by herself who might not mind helping him out...
"Excuse me," he approached the girl's table and addressed her with the utmost politeness. "Perhaps you could assist me. I have never been to an establishment such as this before, and I'm agog as to where to even begin! Might you have some suggestions?"

Call her curious.

Whatever it was, it sounded intriguing.

The pizza, however, was not, much to Alexander's delight.
"Zounds! That is good!"

not Jainarepeated. This was going to be a thing with her. "I take it that means you likey."no subject
And the next thing he knew, the slice was gone. He was perhaps eying the others between himself an Jane, looking over at the girl a little hopefully, a little sheepishly, and asked, "May I?" A second slice was totally calling his name.

"So..." he ventured, "would it be incorrect, then, to assume that America is a society with an appreciation for convenient foods and great wealth?"

And the irony of the fact that he, too, was finding another slice was completely missed on Alexander.

It sounded exotic.

They hadn't even gotten that far in civilization yet; was it really a wonder he didn't know about pizza after all?

Walking through town today, Karla had noticed yet another reason to stop by the pizza place: her new little sib. She hadn't seen the girl since the newbie picnic and decided now was as good a time as any to check up on her.
"Kiss kiss," she said, waving as she walked into Pizza Planet. "How're you settling in?"

There were several she could chose from, really.
