Monday came around with absolutely no fruitly intervention, barring the Skittles appearing in his desk, and Ender didn't really have any problem with those. He momentarily contemplated finally writing down that note to Tony Stark to see if his pointed comment to Hiccup about Burt Bacherach had made its way up yet, but...

Well. He'd figure that one out when he heard from Stark again.

Instead, he made his way to the holographic display and started tinkering with it, using it to come up with very simple simulations of some of the lifeforms discovered on Shakespeare planet. It helped him think.

Ben poked his head into the shop, holding lunch and coffee. "I felt the need to flaunt my oposable thumbs today."

Ender glanced up. "You've already flaunted your opposable thumbs once today, small fry," he said, patiently. "Don't let it turn into a habit."

Ben's cheeks went a little pink, thinking of just how much he'd been flaunting at the time.

"Well, this exercise also brought you coffee, but I could just drink both of them," he threatened.

It was pretty irrational to grin at Ben's flushing, but he did so anyway; after a few seconds, he dropped it down to something more neutral. "Am I supposed to be terrified?"

"Do you want to see me on twice my normal amount of caffeine?" Ben replied with a grin of his own.

"I did need an excuse to get someone in to redo the roof," Ender said, thoughtfully, "But maybe not. For now."

Ben snickered and handed lunch over. "Today I explored a volcano, so even with your coffee, I'd be too tired to reroof your building."

Ender's eyebrows went up. "A volcano, huh," he said, "Which class prompted you to walk those miles?" He took his sandwiches distractedly, pulling at the wrappin

"The one on terrain," Ben said with a small smile. "It was pretty fascinating."

Because Ben was a nerd.

Ender quirked an answering smile. "I think I've been in that before," he said, thoughtfully. "Or something like it."

"Nothing tried to eat me," Ben replied. "I thought you'd be proud of me for that."

"It's only a Danger Shop simulation," he said, "I'm not sold."

"After we visit your home, I'll find a nice volcano planet for us to explore," Ben said with a grin. "Will that suit?"

"Not until you get me a full file of all the local wildlife," Ender retorted, "At least one of us has to go in prepared."

"I'm always prepared," Ben said airily. "I just assume whatever lives in a particular system will find a Skywalker irresistible."
