Dead people mysteriously showing up in Fandom?

Oh, yeah. Gunn was patrolling and being extra cautious as a result. Oh, sure, radio made it sound like a happy family reunion for most people but Gunn was definitely not taking the whole thing lightly.

So tonight the hubcap-battleaxe was making an appearance in the graveyard and Gunn was taking his time with the patrol.

Just in case there were some not-so-happy dead people lurking about.

"Oh really?" Gunn replied sarcastically. "I had no idea. Perhaps you should show me what strategy you would use on a vampire? Does it include fumbling about and looking completely clueless?"

"I could most certainly demonstrate," Wesley replied haughtily. "Or I could inform that it involves a series of martial arts, well-timed and precise motions, and rather quick reflexes I'm certain you don't possess." He mimed the action of fighting and staking a vampire, beginning with impressively smooth (if awkward-looking) movements and culminating with a staking motion which resembled - well, the obvious.

[yes, I totally ripped that last part off "Hush," but I thought of the look on Wes' face with the mimed-staking and I giggled for like a minute, so I totally had to include it.]

"... Man, I'm not even going to begin to tell you what that looked like to me."

Wes took a moment to decipher that comment, then promptly blushed so hard it wad physically painful. "Yes, well - that wasn't - that is to say, I didn't - er - that was not my intention."

"Nah, man," Gunn said trying to keep a straight face. "I'm sure if you pull that out on a vampire, it'll stop him dead in his tracks."

Wes blushed even harder, trying to compensate for his blatant awkwardness by inquiring politely, "I take it you speak from experience?"

Which brought up an unpleasant visual that Wes rather wished he hadn't created.

The smile dropped from Gunn's face. "Are you sure this is where you want this conversation to go?" he asked.

Wesley shook his head somberly. "No, I'm not," he said, cringing a little from the visual.

"Yeah, so I'm just going to go this way," Gunn said pointing in one direction. "And you can just go in the other and we'll just pretend this conversation didn't happen."

"Consider it done," said Wes, and he marched off in the other direction.
