Jaina had had to shut most of the rest of the island out once dead people started showing up, but she could guess at how people might be reacting. So when she got in to work and set things up, she made sure to add a sign.

Technically speaking, Shunsui didn't need a drink. He never needed one because he was never lacking in one. Even if he hadn't spent the last day or so completely passed out after celebrating his new apartment and business venture a bit too much, he wouldn't have needed one thanks to all the dead people hanging around. Dead people hanging around was kind of what he was used to.

That wasn't going to stop him, though, from at least trying to take advantage of the special. "My, my, my ♥! There's a sign after my own heart ♥" Complete with needy slumping on the bar and a hand over his chest.

And, of course, a glance toward the cute girl behind the bar. "And a bartender after it, too ♥. I do hope the night is treating you well, my dear, and, if it isn't, perhaps I can ♥."

"That's one I haven't heard before," Jaina said, thinking back to make sure it was true. Yep, it was. Fandom had done a lot of things for her, including teaching her how to deal with flirts. "I take this all to mean you're liking the special."

"Among other things ♥," said Shunsui, with a soft, appreciative smile and just long enough of a pause to keep it from pushing past uncomfortable. He stopped it from getting there by launching into a very important question.

"How's your sake selection, my dear ♥?"

Yeah, he was going to be a shameless one. Ignoring that, she did a quick check on what they had, since sake wasn't a huge request, at least not on her nights, and listed off what they had. "Do any of those sound good?"

Staring now. "A bottle of each," she repeated. That had to be breaking a law on her part. "How about we start with one and see how you do?"

It was almost time to go, but Anakin couldn't leave without seeing his sister one more time.

"I can't help feeling like Dad would be scandalized by how clean this place is," he commented, dropping onto a stool.

"He's seen it. It's not up to his standards," she said, smiling. "I was hoping I'd see you again."

"I didn't think it would be." Anakin could hear their father complaining about it now, actually. "I have to go soon, but I wanted to see you one more time."

The smile faltered some at hearing he was going to have to go, but she'd always known this wasn't permanent. "I'd rather you didn't have to go at all," she said anyway. "But if you do, I was hoping you could help me out with something."

"Now that is an order," said Jaina, eying him warily. When someone got that much to drink, she tended to worry about how they'd handle it.

It had been some time since Aravis had visited the bar, but she wasn't leaving for Archenland until the morning. She may as well have a drink or three.

She smoothed her skirts as she settled at the bar, hoping her face didn't actually show how the evening had treated her. "Must we prove that we really need it?" she asked, pointing to the sign.

"If you're in town this weekend and you're asking for the booze, I'm going to trust that you need it," Jaina assured her.

Aravis sighed. "I fear I've built up a sort of tolerance to wine. What do you have that's stronger?"

"Many, many things. Is it a tequila kind of night?" she asked, not unsympathetically.

Aravis, not being entirely familiar with tequila but understanding that it would likely be very strong, considered for a moment before nodding. "If there is ever an occasion to drink, I think having one's long-dead mother and brother visit is probably the perfect one."

It is 15 degrees cooler where I'm going to the reception later than it is in my town. Why did I move away from the beach again?

At least the forecast says it's supposed to drop to about mid-70's by the middle of next week?

I can go for that! I'd even be good with somewhere around 80, 85, but at 94 I have to say no more plz...
