After one night sleeping in his office, and one night on a cot that simply wasn't meant for a person his height, Dimitri deserved a drink.

Sadly there was no Chuck there for him to chat with, just a too-happy Tino.

Dimitri didn't want to ask why Tino seemed so happy. He was certain the answer would involve TMI. It was better to listen to the zombie's rendition of music that was NOT Celine Dion. It would work out.

This was Jaina's second visit here in a week, and she was working tomorrow, but she was big on social these days and Caritas was good for that. She got a Coke from Tino, so no one could even say she was becoming a lush.

And there was a pause as she listened to the music, then breathed a sigh of relief. "No idea what they're playing. Good." Maybe it would get the Celine out of her head.

"It is a welcome change," Dimitri agreed. "Not that I was familiar with the bugs' music, but it had a way of staying with you." Over and over again in his head.

"Three days with rolling around in my brain," Jaina frowned. "Every single lyric, over and over and over. Hello."

"Hello. I heard you were back and older than even me now," Dimitri replied, smiling slightly.

"You say that like you're old. Which would make me old," she said with a mock frown. "Don't do that."

"I don't know how cheery it is, but I've been about the same, I suppose," Dimitri shrugged. "Preparing to leave is the newest thing this week that doesn't involve bugs."

"Yeah, that's not cheery. I told Rose I would write her a note to get her out of leaving," she frowned.

It was really pure luck that Rose looked for Dimitri in the bar. Well, pure luck and possibly one of the other NPC gym employees commenting that she thought that's where he was.

So she couldn't help smirking a lot at him all ensconced behind the bar. "Give me a whiskey, barkeep," she said in her best 'western' accent. "And keep 'em comin'!"

Dimitri raised an eyebrow at her. "What makes you think I'm going to encourage you drinking whiskey?"

She frowned, trying not to laugh as she did. "I didn't ask for your encouragement, barkeep, just your whiskey."

The accent was terrible, yes.

It was likely the worst he'd heard. Ever. "I see," he replied, shaking his head at himself as he retrieved a glass of whiskey for her. "How will you be paying for this?"

Rose patted her pockets then looked dismayed. "I think I forgot my wallet! Oh no! There must be some...kind of deal we can work out."

Her lips quirked as she tried to keep a straight face through that.

Dimitri's face fell. "Sorry, I only take cash." And then he downed her drink with a smile.

...dammit, she couldn't keep the laughter from bubbling over.

"Well, maybe Tino will work out something with me," she said, smirking as she started to move down the bar towards the other guy.

"I hear he dates Jessi," Dimitri said, leaning over the bar a bit to watch her move.

"Maybe he likes spandex." And he liked Rose staring. He even poured another glass of whiskey and set it on the bar in front of him.
