Jaina went in to work after the picnic, satisfied that she didn't have to have any trauma over new family members. After years of normalcy in that department, it had been a concern. She doubted anyone would be coming in tonight, so she was taking the opportunity to restock anything that needed it. It kept her busy, and there were a few bottles of things she didn't even remember hearing of before. Was that bad for a bartender? Yes, probably.

Hawkeye made his way to a bar stool he'd decided was his favorite now and sat down. "Can I interest you in making me a drink?" He'd noticed she was older now, but talking about a lady's age was a slappable offense and the night was young.

"Depends on what the drink is," she said immediately. She remembered him having something specific, but not what, exactly.

"Then a martini, if you please. Made with gin, not vodka. As dry as you can muster. Did you do something new with your hair?"

That was the drink! Getting the ingredients, she answered, "I don't think so. Why?"

This was the most thought she'd put into her hair since... well, since deciding she was never going to style her hair like her mother.

"I was looking for a way to say you look different than when I last saw you, but without making it sound like you had a hideous growth on your chin."

"Very diplomatic of you," she said, handing him his drink. "I got stuck at home for five years. The difference is maturity."

Hawkeye sipped the drink and the look on his face showed that she'd nailed it. "Five years of bartending?"

"Five years of war and hauling in bad guys," she said. "Bartending didn't come into play there somehow."

He raised his glass to her. "Here's to getting out of war zones. Bartending is a hobby then? Or a post-war career of choice?"

Jaina didn't have a drink, so she'd just mime one for that. Didn't want to leave him hanging. "It's a Fandom fallback. Did it for a while when I first got here, came back when Chuck needed people, and then came back again because I just like the bar crowd," she grinned.

Shunsui had thought about going to the picnic, but it was a school function, so that meant no booze, and he took a nap instead.

But now that that was over, he could go to the bar where there would be booze. Hooray!

"Jaina-chan ♥!" he called out happily. "Tino-kun ♥! Sake, my dears, and loads of it ♥!"

"You're in luck, I made sure it was close within reach," she said, setting out a bottle because she knew it'd get asked for.

"Ahhh, lovely tulip ♥!" Shunsui said with the utmost praise, and, if Jaina-chan had issues about being called a flower, then he was going to claim it was for Tino-kun. "You do now how to make a man's evening brighter by your mere consideration and charm ♥. Thank you, thank you, and you simply must have just a small glass to share with me ♥?"

"A tulip is a rather lovely flower, don't you agree ♥?" Shunsui asked, hedging his bets on getting her opinion on the matter before deciding to compliment Tino-kun too much.

Looks like someone was going to be getting some flowers next week ♥!

"Really?" Shunsui looked surprised. "How does it come to pass that a pretty girl like yourself doesn't know what a tulip is ♥?"

"I'm not really a pays-attention-to-flowers kind of person," she explained. She'd remembered John going for roses, and she'd paid attention to those, but....

"That's a shame ♥," said Shunsui, shaking his head. "Then again, I'm sure some would say that I pay too much attention to flowers ♥. But they are just so lovely and delicate ♥, but they also are symbols of renewal and growth ♥. How something may fade and wither and fall apart, but, with enough care, it always comes back, just as beautiful as before ♥."

He smiled, taking a second to revel in the thought as he reveled in his drink.

"If not more so ♥."
