Strokes of Genius; Tuesday 31

Today was another fine day at Strokes of Genius, if one ignored that Jane was apparently dealing with what looked like post-inventory fatigue. With the influx of new faces, she was hoping to get the attention of at least one young impressionable mind and get it to work for her. One could dream.

Now she would be trying to make extra strong coffee.

A sign with text like that demanded Shunsui's attention as he walked by on his way to his own shop. And, really, he had gotten tulips for Jaina-chan and intended on being productive at the store, so he could treat himself with a little dallying with the lovely Jane.

"Jaaaaane~chan ♥!" he called out as he poked in head into the door. "I think your sign should be bigger, my dear; I can barely see it ♥."

Shunsui would find Jane stuffing glitter paint cans in a shelf, hands partially covered in sparkles. "Shunsui, how are you doing?" The remark on the sign earned him a smile. "I really need a couple of extra hands here." She hadn't noticed how much Katchoo and the others had helped with the place, and now she couldn't help to miss them a bit. Or a lot.

"Do you think it might bother someone?" Now that would be a problem.

"If it does ♥," said Shunsui, thoughtfully as he drifted into the store to locate her, "then I say, let them be bothered ♥. It's their on fault for not letting such attractive sparkles brighten their day ♥! I'm afraid I'm in a bit of my own employee crisis, myself; what's the point of owning your own business if you actually have to work in it, hm ♥?"

And, of course, because it was almost necessary, "You're looking radiant, as always, Jane-chan ♥."

And not just because of the sparkles.

Jane had to grin on that. She would hate to cause troubles for someone, but if she didn't get an assistant, the sign would be appearing in the store quite often. "You make a very good point; we owners are busy enough with owning the store." Which was a blatant lie, but hey, it sounded nice.

She waved a sparkling hand dismissively. "You are a flatterer, Shunsui." She wasn't complaining though.

"I hear that quite often ♥," Shunsui said, looking quite satisfied with that fact. "I like to think of it more as being unabashedly honest ♥. We should have dinner again sometime soon, Jane-chan ♥. Take a break from all this hard, employee-deprived work we've had to put up with ♥."

Of course he heard that often, considering the number of pretty females on the island. "That's a very positive way of seeing it", commented with a little laugh as she finished to put things into place. "And dinner sounds lovely, certainly something to take our minds off this days." And if she didn't take a break she would end up dragging someone from the school ground to the store and make them work at gunpoint. If life were that easy.

"Wonderful ♥!" said Shunsui, because it was always nice when he just randomly threw out a date and it was accepted. It really didn't happen that often, but that never seemed to stop him from trying. "Shall we be enjoying the fruits of your labours again, or should we celebrate by having someone else do the work at one of our many fine restaurants on the island ♥?"

"Now that, that might be a wonderful idea." Jane knew she couldn't cook for her life, so going out was a lot more convenient. It was also a lot more like a date, but that didn't bother her.

"Any place you have in mind?"

"I might be partial to sushi ♥," Shunsui admitted with a smirk, "or perhaps thai, if we want to maybe spice things up ♥."

Yes, he thought he was so clever.

"Both sound like wonderful choices", said Jane as she tried to rub the sparkles out of her hands. She might need to visit the ladies' room and attack it with soap. "It has been a while since I hadn't had sushi though, so we might save the thai for other occasion?" He wasn't the only that knew how to play the game, after all.

Well, a game was no fun if you were the only one playing it. Shunsui grinned, pleasantly reminded of why Jane-chan was among his favourites.

"I believe sushi is the winner, then ♥! Excellent; no better companion to sake, save for company ♥."

The woman's pride could use some favoritism, really.

Jane nodded. "It's decided then. When would it suit you? Weekend?"

"Saturday suits me beautifully, my dear ♥," said Shunsui, with a sweeping little bow.
